Charlie POV:

The next morning, when I woke up, Lucas wasn't next to me. I felt a hint of sadness when I woke up alone.

I went down to the kitchen and found Adrien. "Good morning, Luna." He said and smiled.

"Morning, Adrien. I'm not quite Luna yet so no formalities." I said and laughed lightly. "Eh, close enough." He replied.

"Do you know where Lucas is?" I asked. "He's in his office. Had an early meeting or something." Adrien replied. "Thanks." I said before knocking on Lucas's office door.

"Come in." I heard on the other side.

I walked in and saw him talking with Sin.

"Oh, Alpha Fisher. I'm sorry to interrupt." I told him. "It's perfectly fine, Luna. I was just leaving anyway. It was good to see you." Sin replied. "Tell Layla hello for me." I told him.

A bright smile came across his face thinking about his mate. "Will do." He said before leaving.

"I don't get why you still hate him. He seems to love your sister." I told Lucas causing him to sigh heavily.

"I know. I just can't help it. We're civil for Layla but we still hate each other." He said before kissing me gently. "How'd you sleep?" He asked me. "Great." I said smiling.

"Alpha. One of the warriors on patrol caught the scent of a rouge." Adrien said as he rushed into the office.

Lucas POV:

"Alpha." One of my warriors, Clark said as he bowed. "What's going on here?" I asked him. "A rouge was recently here at the border. It's still fresh so they must be close by." He replied.

Adrien and I shifted and started to scope the place out.

I came across a naked woman standing by the waterfall and growled loudly before shifting.

She turned and smirked at me. "You must be the famous Alpha Cross. It's so nice to finally meet you." She said sarcastically.

"Who are you?" I asked her. "Wow, you are the spitting image of your father." She told me.

"Daddy." Layla said running into his arms.

"Baby, what happened to you?" Alex asked. "My pack was ambushed. Daddy they have Sin and Lana." She said sobbing into his shirt.

"Where's Lucas?" He asked. "He's at the border following a lead on a rouge." I told him.

Just then Lucas burst through the door.

"Where's mo-" he stopped abruptly when he saw Layla.

"What the fuck happened to you?" He yelled in a panic and rushed over to Layla.

"We were ambushed. They have Sin and Lana. Oh God my baby!"

"It's okay, sister. We'll get them back." Lucas said trying to calm his sister down.

"What can I do?" I asked. "Will you get her cleaned up, baby?" Lucas asked. I nodded and took Layla in my arms and walked her to the bathroom.
