The chapter Chapter 2 is one of the most intense moments in BABY, written by Marie. With signature elements of the Internet genre, this part of the story reveals deep conflicts, shocking revelations, and decisive character changes. A must-read for anyone following the narrative.

I drink my third cup of coffee of the night as I continue to write my notes for the night. My eyelids start to feel heavy with tiredness so I hurry to get the job done.

Today, February 26 of 2019 was like any other day for the past six days of my usual observations.

Two guys who looked very rough and dangerous looking were talking outside of the whore house.

Two electricians came today to fix the sign outside of the whore house as well, although it looked like they were doing something else other than fixing just the lights.

After they were done, they both entered the whore house and didn't come out for hours, thanks to those guys I was behind a few dumpsters, in my usual spot, longer than usual.

I wanted to know what was going to happened so I stayed longer. Nothing happened, which was a waste of time. They got out and just drove off the dark streets of the night. They did--

I stopped writing as my head started to pound harshly. For fuck's sake... I place my hand on my forehead, in hopes that it will calm down so that I can finish my work.

Turns out drinking a total of about eight cups of coffee a day is bad for you, who would've thought.

My headache increased only to get worse, I tiredly rise from my couch and get a cup of ice cold water. I hated tap water with a passion, more than my ex possibly. That jerk.

I chug the whole thing down and feel it cool my senses just in the slightest of ways. "I will just finish tomorrow," I whispered tiredly.

The tick tok of my clock was driving me nuts, the silence that enveloped my apartment every night was overwhelming, the noises from the honks of cars and the yelling from the people upstairs.

This is what New York brings you, the apartment was nice though, rent is 900 a month. Cheap if you live in the big city.

I turn and try to sleep forcibly, ignoring the noises. Like every other night.

My alarm wakes me up at 6 o'clock. I always have trouble waking up but I always force myself to do so to get the job done. I bet today will be like the rest of the days. Normal and just a waste of my time.

Seriously I could be doing a case that would interest me and I can really do a story about a world's problem. Not about a stupid bad boy wanna-be.

I stir my coffee, mixing the sugar in as I hear the harsh wind crash against my kitchen window. Today was supposed to be windy, I guess the weather app didn't lie this time. My back is starting to show signs and cramps from how uncomfortable I have to be behind the dumpsters so that the people don't see me.

Sighing, I sip my coffee before transferring it on my metal mug, it weighted a bit but it still managed to keep my coffee burning hot.

Grabbing my car keys, I head out the door. The wind slapped my hair in the face. As soon as I got inside my car I do a bun, if you can even call that a bun. With a final twist, my hair is now secured. Finally arriving at the place, I park my car a few streets behind and start to walk to my hiding place.

I check my purse to see if I have everything, camera, check, journal, check, granola bars, check, coff-- damn it. I left it inside the car. I look back to see that I have gone pretty far, I forget my dear coffee and just focus on what I have to do.

I turn on my camera as I sit down on the same spot, as usual. The stench of the garbage bags were starting to make me a bit dizzy but I will get use to it, eventually I hope.

The morning passes before my eyes. I have now got used to the yelling and honking of people as they get angry at each other over stupid little things. I dig into my purse and take out the first granola bar of the day.

"I didn't plan out for this shit," I murmured as I break the packaging open. Especially when I have to hears the screams of women from inside of the whore house. Not of pain of course. I'm surprised the how the windows of this place haven't shattered from all the high-pitch screams.

The beeping of a backing up started to reach my ears. I peak my head through the black bags and cover my nose to not get the stench as much. It's a furniture company truck, great another disappointment, I was about to go back to my place but I stopped immediately as I saw a guard that was guarding the whore's house started to approach the truck.

I eat my granola quietly as I was still hungry, but my eyes were like cameras with lasers at the moment. The guard started talking to the driver and they were both murmuring, so I couldn't exactly use my recording tape right now.

The guard took a look around so I had to duck my face and after a few seconds passed I peek again. The guard started to approach the back of the truck and he unlocked it and began to pull the cover open.

Once it was open I saw a ton of wooden boxes. I managed to grab my camera without even looking at it as I payed close attention to the guard. I placed my eye on the lens and snap a photo as the guy got into the back of the truck.

He took out a pocket knife and broke the tape that secured the boxes from spilling open. He popped the top open and took the content out of the box. My heart stopped but my finger seem to think of its own and snapped a photo of the man holding a... gun. A fucking gun.

Deborah was righ--

"If I am such a stranger, why have you been watching me for over a week now? Did daddy never mention to never stalk the wrong person, love?"

"Oh, you're the guy alright. I'm a reporter." i say smoothly and pick up my purse. The first thing that I had in my mind was not there.

"Where is my SD card?"

He took his hand out of his pocket and showed me my small SD card. That bastard... he started to approach me.

"I guess daddy never mention to never take photos of things that you shouldn't have seen either." He told her calmly. He approached closer to her. "I suggest you to end this now, before things get well... out of hand." He smiled wickedly.

"Why? Afraid that I will expose you?" I added gasoline to the fire, bad fucking move.

He wrapped his hand tightly around my neck, but didn't choke me. He instead ran his thump across my lip. He grazed part of my lip that I now realized was bruised, the man that punched me must've rip my lip.

"Tsk, sweetheart, you're in no place to be threatening me. If I'm not correct, your address if 509 Downtown Avenue."

"How the hell do you know that?" I snap angrily, but the fierce tiger inside of me was now starting to fear him, the guy in front of me was no joke. It was worst than she thought.

"Security cameras, the first day I just thought you were a homeless little girl, so I payed no thought to it. But then you came more repeatedly, you're really stupid, aren't you darling?" He said, still touching her lip.

"You're the stupid one, asshole. Because of you I have spent the last week horribly, because why? Just another gang member that didn't do something better with their life?" I spit out, I was beyond angry. But the look in his eye made me sink to the floor. My soul went out of my body as he gripped me tighter.

He smiled, forcefully. His thump stopped on top of my bruised lip and pressed his thumb against it. I cry out and gasp, blood started to come out again. I try to get away but his hands are like clamps.

"Don't you ever disrespect me again." He released me before bringing his thumb that was now covered with my blood to his mouth and sucked on it. "You don't know who you're dealing with."
