I grip onto my files as I pass the clear glass doors. A certain guard smiles kindly towards my way. "Good Morning," I said to him. I would've said his name as well but he never told me.
"Good Morning, dear. And please forgive me, I never said my name. I'm Willy." He gave me a toothy grin. I smile, I pressed the button for the elevator when he suddenly speaks. "You remind so much of my dear daughter back at home."
I turn around and face him again, "is she not here?" That would be awful, not being able to see your daughter any day.
"She's all the way back home, you see, I'm from Italy." He looks sad for a moment before smiling at me. "She has always admired America. Even though it has so many flaws its the most free country."
"I have also admired America since little, I have always wanted to go here. The country where opportunities can be more possible for you if you try hard enough."
"You're not American?" The old man asks surprised, I have gotten that reaction quite a lot.
"Yes,but I'm Hispanic. Many say I look straight American because of the color of my skin. But back in Puerto Rico, the sun gives you sun-kissed skin, America's cold weather just brightened it up a bit. The beaches are the best part of my country." I say and laugh a little as his puzzled face became amazed.
The elevator came down so I had to say my goodbyes. I would have never guessed that Willy was from Italy, his accent didn't show. And that makes me wonder just how long as he lived here in America for it to be completely gone, and how long as he not seen his daughter?
As I walk into the office where stories are made every day non-stop, I enter Deborah's office. The door was already opened, but I still knocked twice before entering. I see Deborah typing furiously on her keyboard as coffee spills were evident in her once cleaned dress shirt.
She looked like a mad woman, her glasses at the tip of her nose, her wrinkled fingers with huge rings were selecting each letter carefully. Deborah looks up at me then back at her monitor.
"What do you have? Please tell me something juicy."
I bit the inside of my lip, I will not tell her what he did to me, so I cover my finger that was wrapped in a bandage. If I wanted to tell her something juicy, I needed to tell her something good.
I shake my head.
"For God's sake, I gave you a whole week and still nothing?" I nodded once again, to her disappointment.
She exhales deeply and sighs. "The competition is cornering us, we have nothing good, we need more stories to keep it running, can you just please just try and get something good? I don't care how you get it. Want to enter the whore house? Fine by me, just get me something, now go. Don't sleep until you find something." And like that, she practically kicked me off the building.
But, at least I had a plan in mind. It made me a suicidal one, but it still counts as a plan. Hopefully.

I close my car door, I parked it in front of the building. In case I need to make a special run away from the bad guys.
Adjusting my black hoodie in place, I make my way around the whore house and see various people smoking there.
God, how the hell did he spot me. It frustrates to no end how he gets amused by it as well.
It didn't look like he was going to look away so I gave up my act and started to walk towards him. His friend looked at me as I was making my way towards them.
I pushed some people that got in my way and I got called the n-word a couple of times.
Mostly because they were trying to have a good time and this girl (me) disrupted them.
Once I arrived, Baby stood still. Sitting down like he owned the place, which he could be the owner but I don't really know much about him. But I plan on getting to know him.
"What's a city girl doing here?" Baby questioned, he passed his blunt to his friend, who still looked at me as if I was his prey.
"Your ass knows this piece of fine ass?" His friend said as he stood up from the couch. "You know, we should get to know each other baby girl." He now talked my way.
I frowned and looked at him. "I'm not attracted to stuck ups like you." I don't really like to be mean but I knew how to handle guys like him for a very long time now.
"Oh, this bitch is feisty. Yo, where you got a chick like this?"
