Cain stood a few feet away wearing a smug smirk on his face that I quickly wiped away when I returned the favour to him, and sent him flying backwards into a tree. He growled loudly and ran towards me with clenched fists.

I ducked his punch and sent a kick to his side, strong enough to make him stumble. I grabbed his arm then flipped him over me and successfully made him land on his stomach so I sat on his back and got him in a chock hold.

"Brother please. End this" I pleaded once more as he struggled in my hold.

"Why do you want me to come back home so badly anyways. I'm nothing but a screwup and a monster. They made me that way. I can't change that" he grunted and tried using his powers to push me off but I avoided his hit.

"We're family Cain. We help each other when the other needs it. Your mate is out there and I will help you find her. Just stop this Cain, please" I begged. My grip had loosened and he took this as an opportunity to flip us around so he straddling my waist with his forearm to my neck.

"I told you before Rosiane, monsters like me don't get ma-" he began to sneer but stopped and snapped his head to the left.

Suddenly a loud bang rang through the forest and a familiar booming voice soon followed.

"Everybody stop!"

And oddly everyone did.

Cain stood up and I followed then stood beside him, glaring at the men in front of me. I saw them holding someone which made me growl.

"Let her go before I kill the both of you" I snarled as I watched James tightened his hold on Marie. She whimpered which made Jacob smile wickedly. I heard Cain growl as he kept his eyes on Marie and James.

"You know why I'm here Rosiane. Do that and we'll leave peacefully" Jacob said as Noah and Zander had moved forward and stood beside me.

"It's the two of you against my whole pack along with vampires. What makes you think you have the choice to be making negotiations right now?" I snorted as I discreetly stepped closer to him.

"Well I know how fond you are of this pretty thing and it would be a shame if we blew her brains out" he chuckled and James pulled out a gun and held it to her head.

"Mate" I heard Cain mumbled angrily under his breath as he let out another growl.

So that's what distracted him from our fight earlier, he smelt Marie.

With that new found knowledge I stepped forward again, clenching my fists.

"Let her go before I make you both regret coming here" I spat.

"You are both nothing but two cowardly wolves to me. I'm an Alpha with my whole pack standing behind me, as well as vampires warriors. You don't stand a chance"

"Well maybe we need to remove you from the equation then" James smiled and suddenly pulled the trigger.

"NO!" I screamed but I was too late and I watched my mate fall to the ground.

"No no no. Noah don't die on me. Please don't leave" I sobbed as I pressed my hands on his bleeding chest. He groaned and rested his hand on top of mine.

I looked up and saw James push Marie to the ground then both him and Jacob made a run for it.

A vicious snarl left my lips as I watched them run away.

"Someone get Noah to the pack doctor. Cain go to Marie and Zander get Jacob while I go after the coward who shot my mate" I ordered and shot up then began running.

I heard Zander following close behind me and we quickly caught up to them.

I shifted then lunged forward and grabbed James' calf in my mouth. James screamed in pain before falling face down on the ground. I let go of his leg then quickly shifted back and gripped his neck in my hand so he couldn't run away.
