"Absolutely, Dorina," I answered. "That is why I turned him over to you. Don't forget that if a deal materializes, you must pay me commission, as we agreed before."
"I know, don't worry. I won't cheat you," she replied.
"I sure hope you won't this time," I said.
We walked to the bank, where Oana opened an account and deposited 40,000 euros.
From there, we took a taxi to the apartment that she had found. It was indeed a very cute apartment, on the first floor, facing the backyard and very quiet. I congratulated her on her new apartment.
"You must immediately go to Giorgina to draw up a contract," I told her.
"As soon as you are done with your arrangements, you can start looking for buyers for the apartment that I live in and my apartment on Cismigiu," I added.
"There won't be a broker in Bucharest that I won't visit and I will bring you the best price possible," she said while hugging me tightly. She didn't let go, and I had to pull myself gently away from her tight grip.
"I will never forget you until my last day," she said to me. "There is nobody on earth who would have done for me what you have done."
"Don't exaggerate. You earned this and more," I said to her.
She pushed me playfully and said, "Stop already. Today is the happiest day of my life, don't spoil it."
"Come, let's go visit Angelo and Rosanna, but please don't say a word about the apartment or the money. That'll be our secret," I said.
"You don't have say it again. I understand very well. I am no fool," she responded.
Angelo and Rosanna were not at Piccola Napoli when we arrived, but Mihaela had taken over for the morning and was busy in the kitchen. Angelo had hired two attractive waitresses who worked hard serving the customers.
"I'll be with you right away," Mihaela yelled from the kitchen. "In the meantime, find a seat."
We sat down and ordered one pizza with mushrooms for both of us, cut in half, with two glasses of beer. Mihaela came to join us just as the waitress brought the pizza. She sat down at our table and said, "So what is new?"
"Maybe you have news for us?" I answered.
"Actually I have," she began. "I met Luciana, who asked to meet up, and she wanted me to let everybody know that the baby she is carrying is not Fabrizio's. She has decided that after it's born she will give it to an Italian couple who wants to adopt a child very badly. Doing this immediately after birth she shortens the process."
Rosanna blushed and turned her head. Angelo put his finger to his mouth, telling me keep quiet.
Later, when Rosanna went to the bathroom, he told me that they had gone to buy wedding bands for their upcoming wedding.
"Is that a reason to blush?" I asked.
"No, but afterwards we went to the apartment for some fooling around," he admitted.
"Oh, I understand, but it's nothing to be ashamed of," I commented with a smile.
The weather at the weekend was stormy and rainy which prevented me from flying back home. Not that there were no flights, it's just that I hate flying in bad weather. I therefore decided to postpone my trip until the following week and to spend the weekend with Oana. I rented a car and went with her to visit the old underground salt mine Salina Veche, located in Slanic, in the Prahova Valley, which is considered the largest of its kind in Europe.
Oana didn't know it existed, I had heard about it from Angelo. We actually had planned to visit it during our first trip to Bucharest, but for some reason we never went.
It was not a very long trip, only about one hundred kilometers. The wind blew constantly and some rain fell from time to time. It was ideal weather for staying at home, but I wanted to give a little vacation to Oana before I left her and Bucharest forever.
