"Could you please remind me of your names?" I asked.
"I am Carmen and my friend is Simona," the prettier but heavier one answered. Both had a dark complexion, raven-black hair and eyes the color of the sky. The heavy makeup around their eyes, a blend of turquoise and blue, accentuated their unique skin color.
"Gert is feeling a bit lonely. Why don't you cheer him up" I asked Carmen.
Gert blushed and mumbled something under his breath. He reached out and took a sip of the water that was left in my glass.
"I go out with anybody willing to pay a fair price. I promise they will be happy with their decision."
"Gert, what do you think? Take Simona to your room."
"I am Carmen and she is Simona," she said pointing her finger at her friend.
Gert moved uncomfortably. I indicated to her to move closer to him. She got up and sat on the arm of the chair that he was sitting on. "Be careful not to break it," he said to her.
"You're right, it could break," she answered as she jumped onto his lap and began running her hand through his hair.
"You are a handsome Italian," she said. Claudio and I broke out in laughter."He's German," we simultaneously answered. "A good German, and don't be alarmed if he wants to check your ass, it's his profession," and we again started laughing.
"Who cares, Italian, German or anything else. Love knows no boundaries," she responded, trying to quote a well-known saying. "They all speak the same stupid nonsense," I thought to myself at that moment.
Gert stood up and held her hand. "Come, let's go to the lake. After all we aren't going to sit in this Caffé all day and drink...." Here he suddenly stopped talking, as he didn't want to insult or offend the Romanians. This is what they have to offer, he thought.
We didn't see Sebastian all day. He locked himself in his room with the two laptops that he had brought along. He said that he had work to do and shut the door.
Fabrizio and Luciana showed up, wrapped in towels and holding each other like a pair of lovers, and sat down next to us. Suddenly Fabrizio got up again. "Anybody wants a coffee?" he asked.
"I will have a coffee," Luciana answered.
About an hour later, we were on our way to the hunter's restaurant.
Sebastian ordered Tuica, a type of spicy Romanian liqueur similar to our Italian grappa. After a few drinks he began telling us about his business successes, his villa on the beach, his expensive cars, his travels around the world and about the child support he pays his wives.
"There isn't a woman in the world I cannot buy. Every woman has a price," he bragged.
"You could never buy me," Roxana teased.
"What are you saying? Do you want to test me?"
"Yes, why not?" she replied
"Come with me to my room right now for a hundred dollars in cash?"
"I wouldn't come even for one thousand dollars," she countered as she defiantly placed her hand on Claudio's shoulder.
