Son
The morning cold air woke Son up. There was a jacket that was covering his body as he sat up inside the classroom. His body felt sore but the remnants of the previous night caused him to smile and made his heart flutter. It had happened. It had finally happened. Pen-Chan had finally come back to him. Looking down at himself Son realized the black jacket which he was wearing belonged to Pen-Chan as he had seen him use it on several occasions and smelled of his cologne. Smiling to himself he pulled the jacket closer to him he blushed when he realized he was just in his boxers.
The previous night had felt so... beautiful. Son had thought he was in a dream. But as he looked around the empty classroom he realized he was alone. There was this feeling inside his chest. It was a pain that felt so familiar. Son refused to let it sink any further. He didn't want to think negatively.
"Chan?..." Son called out softly.
"Pen-Chan?..." His chest tightened and Son fought back tears and a feeling of being ripped in half again as he stood up. He wanted to go out and look for Pen-Chan. Maybe he wasn't too late. Maybe this was only a misunderstanding and Chan would come back for him. Quickly, he gathered his clothes on the floor and got dressed. He had every intention to run out of the classroom but his body wasn't in top condition at the moment. When Son reached to grab his bag a piece of paper flew off it landing on the floor. His hands shook as he looked at the paper and began to read.
P'Son. I'm sorry. Last night I lost control and did something that I am too ashamed of. I should have never allowed us to go as far as we did. I'm sorry.
~Pen-Chan~
A sob escaped Son's lips as he read Chan's words. His knees gave out and as he fell to the ground he felt as though he could not breathe.
"Shame? Is that what I make you feel now Chan? Will I now only be a mistake in your heart which you want to forget?" Thunder cracked outside and Son realized that it had begun to rain. Son felt so weak, so useless, so stupid and so heartbroken.
"Why Chan? Why must you hurt me like this?" Son tried to get himself to stand, wiping away at his tears and as he did so he saw that the photograph of he and P'Pon was on the ground crumpled.
There was a desperation that Son felt in his chest as he uncrumpled it and placed it against him. Wishing that the only person who understood him and knew the whole truth would be there for him to comfort him and tell him that things would be okay. He felt destroyed and only his family could make him feel a bit better. Nim was now gone, Tong hated him and Pon... Pon his brother was not with him either.
He doesn't know how he makes it out of the classroom, but when he realizes that he's outside it's only because of the rain that hits his body. Son shivers in the cold and allows himself to cry because no one can tell with the rain. When he looks up at the sky Son wonders if the heavens are crying with him for his suffering.
He doesn't know how he ends up back at the Sun mansion but when he walks in High Alpha Sun, his wife high Beta Fah and Ruby are all standing in the living room looking at him.
"Where have you- Son! Son." Ruby is the one that begins to scream at him but Son doesn't know why she suddenly stops. There's a look of worry which fills her eyes as both she and her mother rush to him. Son doesn't realize this but he's sobbing. Crying so uncontrollably with so much pain it's as if a wounded animal is being heard. All his pent-up hurt had bubbled up and finally fallen out again. This pain is too much for him to bear. The wound which had always bled from the moment he had been separated from his mate had opened up once again. But he never thought Chan would be the one to make it bleed like this.
"Son! What's wrong are you hurt anywhere? Son?" Ruby is holding on to him tightly trying to look at his body for any blood or bruising. There's desperation in her eyes but Son does not speak.
"Son honey look at us! Talk to us are you hurt?" High Beta Fah is holding on to him as well trying to get him to focus but Son can only focus on the pain in his chest. He wants to rip his heart out to stop that pain that is spreading through his entire body as he continues to cry. Everyone is watched him as he hit his chest trying to stop it from hurting so badly.
"Move out of my way!" High Alpha Tao pushes past his wife and daughter and grabs Son's face in his hands, there's real concern in his eyes as he looks at Son.
"Look at me Son! What's wrong? Did someone hurt you? Tell us?" Son does not answer, instead, his cries become louder and before long he is being picked up by High Alpha Tao. He can hear both Ruby and her mother frantically yelling about a doctor as High Alpha Tao carries him like a small baby in his arms, up the stairs, and to his room. He lays Son on his bed and quickly brings a towel to wrap around him, hugging Son as he cried.
"Shh. It's alright child. Don't cry. Shh. Don't cry son. Please." High Alpha Tao is hugging Son tightly rubbing his back and rocking him back and Pon trying to calm him down.
"You have to be strong Son. You have to be strong child. Don't cry please. The doctor will be here soon."
Son is shaking his head as he looks at Alpha Sun and finally speaks.
"No. Please. I'm okay. I'm alright. Don't call anyone." Son tries to appease he doesn't want this to be blown out of proportion. Physically he wasn't hurt nor had he done anything that he had not wanted to. Still, why was he in so much pain. So much heartbreak. Again.
"Pen-Chan." Son thinks to himself while he continued to cry.
"Please. I'm not hurt. I'm really not." Son tries to argue as he tries to force himself to smile and wipes away at his tears. Alpha Sun looks back at him as if trying to decipher his thoughts but finally, he nods his head hesitantly, agreeing with Son. He wipes away at Son's tears that continue to fall.
"If you are alright child. Then please stop crying." High Alpha Tao hugs Son again who clings to that warmth and comfort that is being offered clinging to it like a small child. Alpha Tao stays with Son until he falls asleep...
When Son wakes up his clothes have been changed, he knows any marks that were left on him the previous night had also healed that same night. Son was sure there were no traces of Pen-Chan on him. What had been left the rain had washed away. Reaching towards his nightstand Son opened the drawer and pulled out the small wolf Pon had given him.
Around its neck was Chan's necklace. Son had stopped wearing it when Apple had confided in him about Chan's "Kidnapping" years ago when he was five. Son had not wanted Chan to get the wrong idea should he see the necklace on him. It was then that Son stopped wearing. Clutching the small wolf to his chest Son continued to cry. Nothing had changed. Things were going to remain the same between he and Pen-Chan. They would continue to be no more than strangers.
