Son

The time had finally come. Son would leave the orphanage in exactly one week. He was about to enter his last year of High School and therefore Son would need to start packing his things and leave. Tong and Nim had left months ago and had offered him a place to stay.

"We can stay together" Tong had said to him just before he and Nim had left. Son had smiled and immediately agreed to Tong's offer. Afterall Pon, Tong and Nim were his only family. Tong had kept his promise to Pon and had looked after Son as best he could. Son had talked to them about moving closer to the second city where Pon was living. However, Tong had pointed out there would be no point.

"You know P'Pon better than both of us runt. You two always talked about Chulalongkorn University. It's where all Alphas go and now that Pon is Second in the Sun pack there's no doubt he'll be there. What's the point of going to the second city if you'll only miss P'Pon."

Tong had been right about that. In the end, Son fought hard to keep his grades up so he could apply to Chulalongkorn University. Not only for P'Pon but for Pen-Chan whom Son knew would also attend that University as he was to be High Alpha and his parents owned that University. Both the Sun and Moon Clan's Alpha's sent their children to the best schools. For High School, there was Sunny Side High School

This school was located in Sun Clan lands. It was where all Alpha's of both clans studied High School. Chulalongkorn University was part of Moon Clan lands. Because of the peace treaty between both packs, there was no hostility. People lived as a whole and in harmony, both packs lead together as one essentially. This peace treaty between packs had only come after years of struggle as the High Alpha's before had all fought uselessly over power and strength which was equal. It was only after High Alpha Tao of the Sun Clan and High Alpha Tanet of the Moon Clan made a blood pack that things had calmed. There had only been a few years of peace but it was enough for the people to relax as Thailand had not been this calm in centuries.

Sighing, Son looked at his room. The bunk above him had been left alone since Pon had left. Most of his things such as gifts from Nim, Tong, and even Pon were displayed on that top bunk bed. Pon never used that bed since Son had arrived at the orphanage. Due to Son's nightmares Pon had explained it was better if he slept with him in the bottom bunk.

"I can comfort you when you have nightmares." Son knew better. Both had no family and they were outsiders with Nim and Tong who were mates. They were two lonely people seeking the comfort of one another. They'd grown to love and care for each other as brothers had and Son could only ever think fondly about Pon.

The small stuffed wolf that Pon had given him still slept with Son on his bed. Hugging it close to him Son stuffed it in his small suitcase. He could pack all he owned in his suitcase with him without a hitch. Grabbing on to Pen-Chan's necklace Son sighed. There were only two precious items he owned and this was one of them. Son never took it off, nor did he allow anyone to see the necklace. Only Nim, Tong and Pon knew what the necklace looked like.

"Son? Son Ritthirong?"

Confused Son turned around to see a man and a woman standing outside his door. Nun Buyasarn was beside them.

"You're not going to tell me they're my family?" Son thought to himself. Though he said nothing and simply gave a polite wai.

"Are you Son Ritthirong?" The man asked curiously. There was something in his eyes, the way he was looking at him. Son felt like he had seen that man before but was unsure of where.

"Yes, Sir."

"Can we talk to him in private? It won't take long." The woman spoke to Nun Buyarsarn. Who looked at Son silently asking if it was okay. Son nodded and Nun Buyarsarn did the same, giving a wai to the couple.

"Erm. Please take a seat Sir and Mam." Son hurried to pull two chairs that were in his room.

"I apologize for the mess but I'll be leaving this place in a week and I am packing."

"It's alright child." The woman spoke warmly. Her tone reminded Son of the way the Nun's spoke to the children when they first arrived at the orphanage.

"Would you like something to drink? I have pink milk or I could go downstairs and get you a drink."

"It's alright. I'm not very thirsty." The man spoke. Son was trying his best to keep his head down as he could sense the strong aura that was emitting from this man. The woman beside him was no doubt a beta but that man. Son had never felt a strong Alpha other than Chan before. Even now, this man seemed to be much stronger than what Chan had been. He was sure that even with the jacket he was wearing which belonged to Tong this person could tell he was an Omega.

"I'll take the pink milk" Son nervously handed the woman one of the bottles of pink milk that he'd brought up to his room. When their fingers brushed together Son almost dropped the drink but was glad it had been closed and caught by him before it fell to the ground.

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine sweetheart." The woman spoke. Her eyes crinkled when she smiled at Son warmly.

"Son. Do you know who we are?" Son shook his head at the man's question and kept his eyes down while he sat on his bed nervously fidgeting with the cap of his pink milk bottle.

"Can you tell what rank we are?" Raising his head slightly, Son spoke.

"Beta...and Alpha" The man smiled at Son's answer.

"You are correct. But I am not just any Alpha I am High Alpha of the Sun Clan." Son's eyes widened and his heart raced. He was unsure of what to say or how to react but simply lowered his head in submission as he realized he was in front of the Clan's leader. What is the High Alpha doing here? Why is he looking for me?

"I'm sure you're wondering why we're here." Son found himself nodding silently.

"We want to sponsor you Son. We've looked at your grades, and we know you want to attend Chulalongkorn University. We like to sponsor hardworking children and you've certainly proved to be studious. You have the grades to attend Chulalongkorn University and should you get in we would like to pay for your school."

Is this a dream? If this is a dream don't let me wake up.

High Alpha Tao and his mate were being quite generous with him. They were not only offering him schooling but Tong and Nim would be given a chance too. The thought of one day getting to see Chan would not remain a dream but would become reality.

Pen-Chan. I will really see you again.

Nodding Son made up his mind.

"Do I have to change my last name?"

"You do not like Sun?" Son found himself blushing and feared to have offended the High Alpha, thus he spoke quickly.

"It's not that High Alpha. I have been Son Ritthirong for most of my life now. This last name was given to me by P'Pon. We are brothers. Does that not mean I am turning my back on him?" Son questioned. Despite the fact that this was part of the reason he did not want to be named Son Sun. Wasn't this too much?

"He will understand. You will talk to him when the time is right." High Alpha Sun explained.

"Alright. I'll agree but... As selfish as this sounds I only want you to let me have a few things." Son spoke. He didn't want to be seen as selfish but he also didn't want to become bothersome. He would deal with the last name and weight that would come with is so long as he could bring the people he loved with him.

"What are they? If we can give them to you we will comply." High Alpha Tao spoke

"I don't want to intrude in your life and if you permit it. Allow me to live on my own with my friends Tong and Nim. I have enough money for an apartment in the city. I don't want you to pay that for me. I can find a job in the city."

"There's no need for that Son you'll be a Sun and."

"It would make me feel better. You're already doing so much for me." Son spoke boldly speaking to High Alpha Tao. The man smiled at Son and nodded complying with his wishes.

"University will be hard we will pay for your dorm and tuition if you still wish to work that can be arranged as well." Son nodded and High Alpha Tao smiled at him standing up from where they were sitting along with his wife.

"Then it is settled. Son you are now officially our son and a Sun."
