Son

"Did you hear about that girl Nim? It's so sad isn't it?"

"I bet it was that Omega Son that killed her?"

"Sharing a lover? Of course, it would end that way. I'm just surprised that weak Omega killed her."

Son didn't want to hear it anymore. For the past three weeks since Nim had died everyone would whisper about him. Son didn't want to think about his friend. Watching Nim fall to her death was something Son did not want to see again. Shutting his eyes tightly Son took a deep breath.

The whispers in school did no cease. He'd fooled himself into thinking no one would ever know he was an Omega. Then, of course, he was a Sun now and everyone knew that the High Alpha Tao had adopted him.

There was no point in hiding his scent anymore. Heading to the cafeteria he could see everyone stare at him as he walked in. He was all alone now. Tong had not wanted Son to attend Nim's funeral as he blamed him for Nim's death. He had moved out and Son had tried calling him countless times but Tong had his phone off and within a few days, the number had been disconnected.

Sighing Son realized that his apartment door was open again. During times like these Son realized it only meant one thing. Both Tong and Nim were getting high off boosters.

"Tong. Nim!" Son called out stepping into his apartment and closing the door behind him. Neither Nim or Tong spent any time at school. For the most part, Son spent his days with Ruby, Tee, Rak, Ken, and Apple.

"Tong! Nim!" Son called once again. When no one was heard and upon entering the bedroom Son sighed. On the table, he could see boosters again. Why was he still so surprised even when he had known beforehand?

It was as if these drugs controlled Tong and Nim now, much like both he and Pon had warned them about. It was useless to stop them and Son blamed himself for not doing more when they started using. Boosters were almost impossible to give up.

Heading to the roof of their apartment building Son could see both Nim and Tong laughing. There were alcohol bottles all over the place and both Tong and Nim were emitting the aura of a Beta.

"Why are you guys up here again? Why are you high? Didn't I tell you to stop it?"

Nim laughed at Son and Tong threw his arm around him.

"Come on runt. Aren't you curious to try them?" Son pushed Tong away roughly and the guy laughed, throwing his head back.

"Do you know what we love most nugget? It's feeling invincible. We are on TOP OF THE WORLD!" Nim shouts could be heard throughout the entire street. Son could feel Nim vibrating with power but Son knew that boosters, though they made you strong prevented you from shifting to wolf form.

"Come on Tong. Let's play!"

"Nim. You're drunk and high off boosters. Roof jumping is dangerous." Son warned.

This dangerous game which they played was something that was mostly done in wolf form. Tong, Nim and Pon would shift while Son was carried on Pon's back. They would jump from roof to roof trying to reach the next building. Wolves were fast healers and they'd had lots of close calls.

Adrenaline had been fun but when it was dangerous it was trouble. Wolves were strong and fast healers but that did not mean they were indestructible. They could still hurt; they could still bleed and they could still fall to their death.

On one occasion Pon had fallen from one of the buildings and he and Son who had been on his back at the time had almost died. If not for Nim and Tong who had managed to help him up and if not for Pon who ended up breaking his arm they both would have been dead.

They had all been stupid and reckless. But did not learn and kept up with the habit that only seemed to worsen with time. In the end, they'd upped the stakes and had begun jumping in human form. Son went along with it at that time because he'd believed Pen-Chan to be dead. He'd wanted to see him so badly. He had even considered boosters at that time.

"Don't be such a wimp nugget. You use to love this."

"Tong, talk her out of it." Tong himself seemed too far gone and was laughing while Nim took a leap landing on the other building. Son could see her stumble but the boosters kept her fast and on her toes.

"Tong if she burns through the boosters she won't make the next jump." Son tried to reason with his friend but he only laughed uselessly and continued to drink. Pushing him away Son looked over at Nim who was already jumping on to the next roof.

"Damn it." Cursing under his breath Son followed after Nim who seemed to think of this as a game. She laughed, jumped and stumbled barely making it past the roofs. Son knew he had to stop her. They'd lived here long enough for him to know that the next building Nim would have to jump further. She'd been burning through her booster high as it was before Son arrived it was only a matter of time before she ran out of the strength it was giving her.

There was no way Nim would make the next jump, the building was higher, Nim would have to cling on to the pipe in order to get on it, the next roof after was farther apart than the previous ones and the drop. If Nim fell she would definitely die.

Running as fast as he could Son tried to even his breath and calm his heart. He needed to reach Nim in time before it was too late. Jumping over to the next building's roof Son panted and pushed away the pain he felt when he landed on his knee. While he could not shift into a wolf, he could still heal. Granted he was slower than the others but he would be fine.
