"I-It was Hunger Games." He laughed as I was confused at his sudden change of mood. I stared at him laughing as he pinched my burned cheek.
"Its progress." He muttered.
"Huh?"
"Nothing. Let's eat some dinner, I am so hungry." He said as I nodded and I tried to get out of his hold. He didn't let me and my already burned cheeks were going to blast. I tried again, and again. And finally, after many tries, he let me go with that devilish smirk of his.
I placed all the food as I waited for him to join when he came out, he was showered and dressed comfortably in his trousers and a simple shirt. His hair was wet and I couldn't help but stare at him. He sat in his seat as did I. I didn't turn to face him, in shyness as we ate without talking. After a few minutes, he spoke.
"How was the movie?" He asked as I turned to face my husband.
"It was amazing." I replied.
"Tell me what happened in the movie, will you?" My excitement got the best of me as I blunted to him almost all the movie and he listened to me throughout my blabbering. It felt good to talk to someone, when you never talked with anyone your whole life. Being locked away from the world was not really good and now thinking about it, I don't know how I survived it. When I was done, he gave me his beautiful smile as I smiled back in coyness. I can't believe I talked that much.
"If you like it that much, I will install Netflix for you and you can watch any movie you want. Okay?" I didn't mean by the word 'Netflix' but I nodded, joyfully. Maybe it was a channel.
"Let's go to bed." He said as he caught my hand and intertwined his with mine.
"What about the dishes?" I asked.
"Lydia will take care of it." He answered as he walked inside of our bedroom with me along with him.
"Are you tired?" I asked as he nodded, yawning.
"Very. Are you?" I nodded as I felt him moving closer. He once again gave me that devilish smirk as I started to step back. I quickly ran to the washroom avoiding him. When I closed the door, I heard him chuckling. I raised my hand up to my chest as I felt my heart beating against my ribcage. He made me feel different things and I can't believe that all of that felt really good.
I smiled at her attentiveness toward me as I kept reading the newspaper. She came out with the hot tea in her hands and carefully passed it to me. Our fingers touched as I heard her taking a deep breath. I smirked at her reaction as I took her small hand in mine. Her eyes widened as I pulled out a chair close to me and made her sit in it. She sat on it and lowered her eyes in shyness.
"Why were you late?" She asked her voice so soft and quite that it was music to my ears. I showed her the newspaper as she looked at it, confused.
"There was an accident today and many were injured so that was the reason I was late." I told her as she nodded, understanding.
"Are they all fine?" I didn't want to upset her or make her feel sad by my answer.
"Yes." I answered simply. She hummed as her eyes were focused on the newspaper. I, at first thought she was reading it but then she spoke.
"I can't read." Her words stabbed my heart and I felt pity. I watched as sadness washed over her.
"Did you not go to high school?" I asked her slowly and steadily. She shook her head as her sad eyes meet mine. I didn't want to push her so I didn't ask her why. But the questions I wanted to ask her we're building up every day.
