"Well I don't love monsters". I can't believe I called the person I love a monster.
"You think I'm a monster?" he says softly. "You think werewolves are monsters? So that means you think your whole family and friends are monsters? Did you know you'll eventually be a monster too".
"My friends and family aren't monsters", I yell. How dare he say that!
"But Amber, they're werewolves too, your mom, dad, Devon, Hannah, Rachel, all of the people at that party last night were werewolves. All of the kids at school are werewolves. So basically everyone you know is a werewolf and you will be one too". My family never told me they were freaking werewolves! And my best friends! They don't keep secrets from me? They tell me everything! And I'm going to be a werewolf too? "Please Amber, stay". I shake my head and storm out of the room. When I go downstairs I see a few of my guy friends.
"Hey, you okay Amber?" Nick asks. I was still crying. He was at the party last night, that means he's one too.
"Amber, wait", Kevin says, turning me around.
"Don't you fucking dare touch me", I shout.
"I'm sorry", Kevin whispers, letting go off my hand. I cry more and run out of the house. I take my time walking back to my house, I had to think. When I get home, I could hear my Mom and Dad talking in the kitchen. I cry and slide down the door. I bury my head in my hands. I hear someone run over to me.
"Amber, Amber! What's happened?" Devon asks frantically. He pulls me into his chest and I cry my eyes out. "Shh, everything's okay". He strokes my hair and rubs my back. Everything that Damian said earlier on comes all back to me. My own brother lied to me, he's one of them too. I push him off me. "Amber what's wrong? What did I do?"
"Oh you know what you did, did you just think you could hide it from me forever?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh don't act so innocent, I know about you, Mom, Dad, everyone".
"How?" is all he says? How? That's all he cares about, how I found out. I'm so mad at him for keeping this from me. I'm mad at everyone.
"Damian told me".
"Amber I wanted to tell you, you know I don't like keeping things from you. But we couldn't tell you until you turned into one". I'm going to turn into one too? I get off the ground and run up to my bedroom. I slam the door behind me and lock it. I fall onto my bed. My whole life has been a lie!
****************
After crying for hours I have a shower. I get out and dry myself. I put the towel around me and go over to the mirror. I take a long look at myself and sigh. I dry my hair and go back out to my bedroom. I look through my wardrobe and pick out a sleeveless V-neck top, a skirt and some pumps. I lie down on my bed again and sigh.
I look over at my bedside table. The necklace and bracelet I got yesterday were on it. I get up and go over to the table. I hold them in my hands for a few minutes then put them on. I move my side fringe out of my face and a tear falls onto the ground. I'm surprised I have any tears left.
"Leave me alone too", she says.
"Please, baby, I'm sorry for not telling you. Please open up, I love you", I plead.
"I'm not opening the door, now leave me alone. I fucking hate you all", she shouts. A tear escapes my eye.
"She doesn't mean it", Devon whispers.
"My own mate hates me", I say. I can't believe it, she said she loved me last night. Last night was the best night of my life. "Okay then, we won't bother you anymore". We turn around and go back downstairs. "I should just go".
"You don't have to, we can hang out", he suggests.
"Okay then". We go into the living room where his parents were.
"Any luck?" his Dad asks.
