"I know you said you're going to be there for me but you don't have to come to the appointment," I assure him.
"But I want to, a lot and I'm not just saying that. I really want to be by both of you and Damian's sides."
"Thank you Devon, that means so much to me." I pull him into a massive hug and he kisses my head and forehead. "So are you still friends with Damian?"
"Of course, he's my best friend, but I'm not sure he still wants to be my friend anymore now since I've done that to him."
"I know he still does, talk to him," I tell him and he nods in agreement.
"I'll talk to him now." We get up together and go downstairs. Damian looks over us suspiciously. "Damian, can we talk?"
"Depends if we're going to be talking or fighting because I don't want to fight," Damian says.
"Me neither," Devon agrees. "I wanted to apologise for earlier, I shouldn't have done that or acted that way to both of you. I'm really sorry, so sorry."
"It's alright Devon, I would have done the same if I was in your position. I'm sorry too for putting you in this position," Damian says.
"I'm just very protective of my sister, especially when it comes to guys," Devon says.
"Don't I know it," Damian grins over at me. Devon chuckles and I smile.
"I forgot to say congratulations to you both," Devon says. I smile my thanks.
"I can't wait," Damian says, putting his arm around my back.
"I didn't really see you as the father type," Devon says sceptically.
"He's hidden his soft side," I smile, speaking for the first time.
"This guy has a soft side, yeah right! But we're still friends, right?" Devon asks.
"You should probably be doing some Alpha stuff, you've been spending too much time with me and not enough time with your pack, every pack needs their Alpha Damian." He sighs and rolls over onto his back as he looks up at me.
"I can just get Devon to cover me," he says.
"No, he's the Beta, it's not fair asking him to do all your responsibilities. Now get that ass downstairs with the pack members," I order.
"Pregnant women are very bossy and I didn't think you could get anymore bossier." I grin and lie back. "Can I get a kiss?"
"You've been getting too many kisses from me lately and this baby's proof." I pat my belly for effect and he laughs.
"Fine then, make me suffer. Goodnight and sleep tight." I smile and he kisses me on the top of the head then turns off the light as he departs. I rub my stomach with my hand that was still on it as I think about Damian and us in the future. I think he's going to be an amazing Daddy to our baby and I know he's going to be there for me and treat me right. I'll do anything for Damian, I hope this isn't going to be a regret by having this baby.
Yes there's going to be some arguments that I won't be able to prevent because a baby is a lot of work and it's going to be stressful which will lead to us both being moody and a bit annoyed with each other. But at the end of the day we'll be grateful to have each other and this wonderful gift called our baby which we're going to love so much. I know I'm scared but I also know I love this baby even though I've only known they've existed for a week and they're not even born yet. I hope Damian loves this baby as much as I do and is happy. I think he does too. I smile while falling asleep.
