After Damian left I go downstairs.
"Hey Amber, since your seventeen tomorrow what do you want to do?" Devon asks.
"I don't want to do anything, just spend it with my family". He smiles.
"You sure, you don't want a party or something?"
"No, I'm fine. I'm only another year older, I don't need anything special".
"But you're special and you deserve to have a special day".
"It will be special with just you, mom and Dad". He nods.
"Okay if you're sure". I go over and kiss his cheek.
"But thank you anyway".
"No problem, I'll do anything for you". The next morning I wake up with a smile on my face. I can't believe I'm seventeen now. Yay! I hope I stay happy and it doesn't get shit. I run into my bathroom and quickly have a shower. I dry myself and my hair. I leave it cute and wavy then put on my favourite clothes. I do my make-up then grab my bag and run downstairs.
"Someone's happy", my Dad says. I smile. "Happy birthday darling". He hugs me and kisses my forehead.
"Thanks Daddy". I smelt pancakes coming from the kitchen. They are my favourite! I go into the kitchen and see my Mom putting them on a plate. My Mom did the best pancakes ever.
"Happy birthday sweetie", she says. She hugs me too. "You look gorgeous".
"Thanks Mom". My brother comes in and runs over and gives me a bear hug. He lifts me off the ground as he hugs me which makes me laugh.
"Happy birthday little sis", he says. He takes something out from his pocket and gives it to me. It was a small box wrapped in purple wrapping paper and had a black bow around it. "It's only small, I have another present for you later". I rip open the wrapping paper and open the box. It was a beautiful purple and black bracelet that I have been looking at for weeks.
"How did you know?"
"Well it's your type of thing and when I saw it, it reminded me of you". I smile and put it on. It had my name on it written in amber. It really went with the purple and black.
"Maybe because it has my name on it", I say. He chuckles. "Aw you shouldn't have".
"If you want something else I can return it and you can pick out what you want".
"No this is perfect thank you". He spins me around the room and I laugh. "Oh enough you'll make me get sick". He laughs and puts me down. I sit down and eat my lovely pancakes while at the same time I admire my bracelet. If I remember correctly this costs a fortune. He shouldn't have spent that much on me.
"You know the wink he gave you and the blushing", Rachel smirks.
"It was nothing", I say.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" they shout as they pull me into a hug. I laugh.
"Thanks, you guys".
"We are taking you out to a fancy restaurant tonight so look good", Hannah says.
"She looks good the whole time anyway", Rachel says. I smile and join arms with them as we walk over to my locker. "Okay we'll see you after school, we'll meet you at your house around six".
"Okay, bye!" They smile and walk off to class. As I open my locker and get out my books I hear someone come up behind me.
"Hey Amber, happy birthday", Dean says. I freeze, I should ignore him. I sigh, I'm acting immature he wants to stay friends I should stop being an idiot and stay friends with him. I turn around and face him.
"Thanks", I whisper.
"I almost forgot what you sounded like, you haven't talked to me in like two months which I understand why", he says sheepishly. I nod. "Amber you know I'm sorry, I really am".
