"Mikey!" A deep voice boomed as Michael pushed the door open that belonged to a very expensive looking house. My eyes snapped over to where the voice came from and I was greeted with looking at a huge man, who looked quite attractive if I say so myself.
Michael's arm was wrapped securely around my waist and we walked through the doors, and as soon as we were inside the man wrapped his arms around Michael, performing a man hug. Michael responded but kept his arm around my waist, not letting me go and only making his grip tighten as the man hugged him.
"Reece, nice to see you man," Michael's equally deep voice said as the two men finished their embrace with a knuckles. "Maddie, pleasure seeing you as always." Michael continued with a slight nod of his head and a small squeeze on my waist. "Maddie is Reece's mate," Michael quietly whispered down in my ear. As soon as I noticed the girl standing where Reece was standing, I felt myself fill with jealousy.
Maddie was stunning. Her light brown curly hair was pulled up into a pony tail and she was wearing simple denim shorts and a plain light purple singlet top. Her face was covered in freckles and her body was a muscular figure just like mine. Her toned yet thick thighs were tanned from being out in the hot summer sun and it made me wonder if we shared the same passion of loving the ocean or not. Maddie looked like the cute girl next door and couldn't possibly be a day over 0.
"Guys, this is Alana. My mate." Michael introduced me while smiling down at me with pride shining in his eyes. His deep brown eyes were boring into mine and I couldn't help the small blush creeping up on me. Both Maddie and Reece introduced themselves and commented on what a cute couple Michael and myself made which only intensified the red on my cheeks.
"Has Michael been the perfect mate to you?" Reece asked with humour evident in his voice as he stared down at me. He to, like Michael, had his arm wrapped around Maddie's waist as we walked through their home and out onto their back deck. As we were walking through their home, I couldn't help but admire it.
The floor was wooden and the walls were painted white. The furniture was expensive looking and the photos and artwork on the wall must have cost them fortunes. But the whole time we were walking through, I couldn't help but think of it being a perfect home. It wasn't small, but it wasn't huge. It was perfect and cosy.
"Umm," I started answering but I wasn't sure how to put it. I had no clue what a mate was supposed to act apart from what Michael had told me.
"Bit of a rocky start because Alana didn't know about us," Michael cut in for me and saving me the embarrassment. "But were getting better."
Maddie leaned out of Reece's arms for a slight second and took a quick glance at my neck before moving beck into her previous position on her seat, staring back out at the woods surrounding us. Self-consciously my hand rose up to my neck and I rubbed it checking to see if anything was on it. Maddie giggled quietly from beside Reece as she observed me, and only laughed louder at my confused expression.
"No mark?" Maddie questioned with a knowing look on her face. When I looked even more confused Reece started chuckling as well.
"You'll kill me. I'll die of blood loss. You're not fucking bighting me!" I tried to sound intimidating but I ended up pleading with him. Do they not realise how strange it sounds to bight someone's neck?
"What did I say about you accusing me of killing you?" His voice growled lowly losing all signs of playfulness and humour that was there only moments before.
"You want to bight my neck, how will that not kill me?" I questioned clearly confused. The whole time I was discussing this with Michael I couldn't help but feel the eyes of the other two people sitting and watching the whole scene unfold.
"Because it's a mark. It goes deep enough to stay permanently for my mark, but not deep enough to cause you any damage." He explained. I could see in his eyes that now was not the time for this argument so I let it go for now.
"Alpha!" a frantic voice called, snapping us out of our silence. All eyes turned and found where the voice had come from. A man who looked about thirty years old came running in through the forest that was in front of us. His hair was black and straight, cut short.
