They nodded and I went to my cabin. Jason came inside too.
"I am so glad to be back at your service" I heard him as I sat down on my seat.
"Likewise. You did a great job, Jason" I smirked. "You are the best personal assistant I ever had"
"Thanks, Ms. Heather. Now, should we start arranging for the celebration, as we are gonna get the deal for sure?"
"Yeah, go ahead. I want the party to be the biggest and the best till date. I want everyone in the world to know that it is us, The Blue Association, to win the biggest deal of the decade. That we're the biggest company"
"Cheers, Ms. Heather. I am glad we made it. The arrangements will take a week, and the party can be arranged next weekend"
"I look forward to it"
We both smiled. Even though Jason is quite not the rich guy I wish for, he is good. He is loyal and trustworthy. He is handsome too. I can really think of him as someone I have a potential future with.
I don't know how crazy this thought seems to him, so I am just gonna wait for him to make some moves. I may not make one, but I will surely give him clues.
He went out of the cabin and I sat back.
I knew you were dumb, Chris.
And you still are.
You didn't learn even after you got cheated upon.
-
Ashley
"Ashley" I heard Chris. I took a step back. I remembered his disgusting face. The way he had thrown me down on the floor that day without any reason. His words roamned in my mind once again as I heard his voice.
'Whore'
'let them fuck you if they want to'
'I know how to treat whores like you'
'How shameless you are'....
Unknowingly, a tear went down my eyes and he wiped it. I pulled away and went back.
"W-Why the hell are you here?" I asked, holding back my tears.
"To make things right" he whispered. "To make up for what I did"
"W-What do I look like to you, huh?" tears collected at the back of my throat as it got hard to speak anything. "You... you can come back anytime and-and can call me all that shit a-anytime?"
"I know I did wrong," he came closer. I wanted to go back but he held my hand steadily. "But let me make it right now"
"No way! I am married!" I finally yelled and got away from his grip.
"You are?"
"Yes! Yea---" I stopped when I realised I just signed the divorce paper. When I remembered... we weren't married anymore.
"Ash?"
"Don't-- don't call me that. I am Ashley for you. And mind you, I am-- I am Ashley Smith!"
"Married to Vincent? Vincent Smith? The mafia?"
"Yes! and what is it to you! How sad he didn't fuck me like you wanted--"
He came closer and kept a hand on my mouth and shushed me. "I am sorry. I am sorry for everything. Please... please forgive me"
I went away again. "I don't understand how that even matters!"
"Tell me, are you married?"
"I..." I sighed. "I am not married but I am taken"
"Were. You were my boyfriend" I corrected him. "You are nothing to me now. Nothing!"
He sighed. "Come on, Ash. You love me!"
"I love you? You know, you don't deserve anything!"
"Yeah! I saw that! I saw that when Heather betrayed me, don't you think I am feeling worthless enough!"
I became quiet for a minute. Oh yeah, he was with Heather. So she left him? She betrayed?
"You never told me about you and her anyway" I scoffed.
"It was our past and nothing else"
"I don't care anymore"
"Ash. Please, give me a chance"
"And betray Vincent? Sorry, it is impossible"
he sighed. "Please"
"What? get out, Chris. Right now"
"Do it the easy way"
"Oh fuck, now are you gonna blackmail me? Don't even try. I am not interested"
"I am not blackmailing you," he smiled. "I am gonna take you to your parents because they are sorry"
"What? parents? I don't even have any parents!"
"They were bailed... their punishment period was over..."
