"so you finally did it, I'm dead. Do you think you're free? That you can move on?

Remember when you were pregnant with our first child? And you ran away?

You were so fat.

What happened?

I found you, I beat you up, and I did the deed that caused that whole process to happen in the first place.

My point is, no matter what happens to me, once you're breathing I am all you know.

Even if you get a new lover I will consume your mind, I will choke up every bit of sanity you have, and I will drive you insane.

You were never good enough, and you never will be.

Oh, my dearest Ocean, this is just the beginning, just wait and you'll see what I'm talking about.

You'll see.

Shaking with anger, I let out a loud roar, throwing my laptop at the wall.

I grab the lighter from my drawer and burn the letter to ashes.

Who does this man think he is?

Even in his grave, he's still a pest.

Ocean will never see this message, and I will ensure that she never has to go back to that dreadful lifestyle.

Her life will be filled with glee and untamed happiness.

Ocean's POV

Taking up the remaining stuff from Trevor's house, I felt like everything had drained from me.

He was gone yet I felt like I was locked in a cage and with him no longer here, the key has vanished too.

I carry the last box outside, taking one last look at the house of memories before leaving.

"say cheese ocean." he gave me his trapping smile as I stood in front of his new home.

I grin widely, happy for him finally becoming independent.

"Now you can move in with me." he winks and I laugh, taking it as a joke.

"Not right now Dain, maybe in the future." I flick my hair over my shoulder but when I looked back at him something in his eyes had changed.

He cleared his throat. "Let's look inside."

That was the first time he laid his hands on me. He wasn't drunk, or mourning, he was just angry.

I let it slide after he apologized, but I just kept falling into a loop.

My phone came to life as I drive home, and I click accept as Trevor's name flash across it.

"Let's go to the beach." He says immediately and I sigh.

"Trev, I know you're trying to cheer me up, really, but I'm not in the mood for-"

"Be ready by 12." and he hung up. I throw my phone harshly into the other seat before pressing gas harder.

Why can't people just leave me alone? Even when I'm free, I'm not free.

I got home and stuffed my boxes in a corner before collapsing on the bed.

I just want to sleep.

I inhale the scent of lavender, drifting asleep the A/c slowly wiping away my sweat.

"He's gone."

"Is he?" I let out a bitter laugh. "He left but he left me with all the horrid memories. He knew what he was doing, I'm forever trapped in a mind of despair and I can't get out. No one can get out of their mind."

"So what I'm hearing is, you've given up before even trying?"

"Trevor-"

"No really, tell me, a girl, age 15, raped by her father and brother multiple times before the dumped her in a garbage bin. She was close to death, so close when I found her. She's now married to a lawyer, four kids, and a house in Italy. She overcame something that was dug so deep in her roots. She was taken advantage of, by the people who were supposed to protect her, like the delicate flower she was, how would she ever trust again?"

"A man was abused up until he was 18, his father killed his mother right in front of him, he then had to kill his father, and he's forever haunted with the memories of his Fathers and mother's blood on his hands, literally. He's now the manager of some huge company in Europe. "

"Ocean people shouldn't determine where you go, they shouldn't have the power to take over tour mind, to let you feel like you're nothing." Mucus ran down my nose with the tears, and I probably looked constipated but I didn't mind.

"You don't know what I've been through Trevor." my voice trembled.

"And even if you tell me it still wouldn't be the same as what you felt, but you can't let that keep you from being happy. Dains dead, just think about it. You're free."

"The man above breathed life into you, don't let someone, a pathetic human, suck it out of you."

My head was laid on Trevor's shoulder, a friendly gesture I called it. His words rotated around my mind, filling me with hope and uncertainty with ever thought.

I'm starting college in a few, without anyone to hold me back, I can have friends who support me... I can... I'm free.

"You know, the first thing I noticed when you walked into that room, was your hair." He murmurs, and my ears perk up. "It was crazy really, it's so long, yet it barely stays still, it's always all over the place. I loved it."

"I meant it when I said you were a breath of fresh air, you were something different." He mutters and a small smile meets my face. "It must be fate because I'm pretty sure we're stuck with each other."

That has me giggling.

"Are you okay with that?" He curls the end of my hair.

"I'm more than okay with that."
