Ocean's POV

That lying son of a bitch.

I'm such an idiot.

My legs drum anxiously against the gravel as I tilt my head to the sky so that the tears could go back in.

Are all men the same?

If they aren't beating your ass into the floor, they're lying straight through their pretty white teeth.

I can't believe Trevor would do this to me. Maybe it wasn't so much the fact that he killed Dain, but he continually pretended that he didn't know what had happened, and lied every time I brought it up. I knew he was an ex-Mafia Leader, I wasn't completely oblivious to the fact that maybe he did drop bodies now and then.

But if he had just told me he was the one that killed Dain, I would be terrified, sure, but somewhere along the line, I would understand ... And Rasco would still be alive.

Oh, Rasco.

More tears slip down my cheek, and I sniff, not wanting to use my hands to wipe my nose. I'm sure I looking homeless in my sleepwear, as I sat on a park bench, but I didn't care.

"Tissue?" I look up at the voice to find yet, another man.

Oh no, don't get involved with me, there's this crazy man that might kill you.

I roll my eyes at the thought, but offer the man a small smile and take the tissue from him.

"Thanks," I mutter and he smiles back.

"I'm Otis," his British accent rolled off his tongue.

"Ocean."

"O," He chuckles and I shake my head, forcing a smile. Now was not the time.

He takes a seat next to me and my insides almost burn with fury.

The last place I wanted to be, was at the apartment but I had nowhere to go.

I had no friends, I had no relatives, and I had nobody.

I felt nothing but pure sadness as I closed the door behind me. My eyes were so puffy I could barely see, and my hands were shaking from the cold.

I found Trevor on the couch, and he stood as soon as he saw me. We both stood, looking at each other, and all I wanted to do was slap the shit out of him.

"Can you leave?" I ask him. I wish this was my house, so I could demand that he left, dramatically throwing his stuff over the railing.

"Ocean-" he takes a step forward but the tears return as I push both of my hands out.

"Trevor please, just go." His face drops for a moment before he nods. I step aside as he gathers some folders from the desk, and passes near me.

His cologne filled my nose as opens the door and I close my eyes. I could feel him looking at me, not yet shutting the door so I leave him standing there, disappearing into my room.
