Trevor's POV
Something's wrong.
I woke up this morning and Ocean was gone. After her little episode last night, I wasn't stupid, she knew something.
I run a hand through my hair, hastily getting into the shower.
Someone must've tipped her off, maybe that dumbass investigator but I had him killed so how was that even possible. I resist the urge to punch the bathroom walls before getting out of the shower and drying off.
I quickly get dressed, locking up and throwing my keys into my pocket.
I needed to get Ocean a distraction, and fast do that I could revisit every spot there was and clean up every mess there.
My phone rang as soon as I got into my car, and I picked it up to find that it was one of my men.
"Franco?
"Boss, Rasco left Ms. Devila a note, we found multiple crushed up ones under the bed." I froze.
"Boss?"
"Thank you, Franco."
I hung up and just stared straight ahead. I bang my hand on the steering wheel once, twice -
"FUCK!"
It was all down to the matter of, what do I do?
How much does she know? Is she sure?
Did he provide evidence?
Fuck that.
I was at Dain's house, pouring gasoline all over.
A blunt in my mouth, my suit now crumbled, my hair hanging wet with sweat over my forehead.
Ocean and I had just decided where we would stand, and now this.
But dammit, why was she so ... persistent in finding out who killed her abusive ex-boyfriend? Why couldn't she be happy and leave it alone?
There's nothing I wouldn't do for her, nothing I wouldn't buy, no place I wouldn't take her, I could make her happy so why was she dwelling in the past?
With a lit match, I feed the hungry flames, as they follow each trail rapidly. If there was any evidence leftover at Dain's house, I was tired of going over there. I was tired of looking back, and figuring out what I could've done wrong, or left to be seen. From now on any person, or thing that stood in the way of Ocean and I will be immediately obliterated.
After quickly getting into my car, and pulling off before anyone could see, I was still anxious. I could only wonder what Ocean was thinking of right now, and when she hears that Dain house caught on fire, I knew that she would only be more curious, and much more suspicious.
I decided to stop by her school to wait for her. I brought her lunch, just in case she didn't eat much, and I had plans to ask her out on a date.
An hour had passed, and I finally saw her hurriedly walking down the stairs. I swiftly get out and sprint towards her.
"Ocean!" She jumped, turning towards me and the way she looked at me made me angry.
She looked so fearful as she gazes around quickly.
"What're you doing here?"
"I usually give you a ride home-"
"I'm not going home right now Trevor, go back to work." She turns to leave and I clench my jaw.
"Ocean, wait," I walk to catch up with her and she keeps her eyes pointed to the ground. "What's wrong?" I try.
"Nothing's wrong Trevor."
"Then why are you acting like this?"
"Please leave me alone." She almost whimpers and I gently grab her arm.
"Go on a date with me tonight."
Her hands cautiously touched the side of my face, drawing my eyes to looking into hers. She was pleading with me.
"Did you... Did you kill Dain?"
I tilted my head at her, letting out a loud sigh.
"Yes." Her eyes widen as if she wasn't expecting it. I try to keep my face as stoic as possible as she swallows hard. She slowly pulls her hand away from me, and I try to keep composure, missing her touch.
Ocean takes a step back, her body rigid. She draws her palms slowly into her chest.
"And I would do it again," I add, and in a split second, her palm comes flying towards my cheek. I grab her hand before she could hit me, and her eyes swell with tears.
"You bastard!" She yells, ripping her hands from mine. "All this fucking time Trevor! You lied to my face, you watched me worry, you watched me search and you knew!"
"Ocean, he beat you." I remind her calmly, but her eyes just light up like a bull seeing red.
"That doesn't give you the right to take his life, Trevor! What is wrong with you?!"
"You know who I am, I'm a dangerous man Ocean, stop acting so surprised."
"You're such a fucking asshole," she launches a punch at my chest and I let her have it.
"And Rasco? Did you-"
"I did."
And there it was. The dreaded look.
It was a mixture of disgust and fear. Hurt, pain, betrayal, all of it was there.
I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to comfort her, what to tell her.
She turns quickly and pulls on her shoes, before grabbing one of the keys and leaving, slamming the door behind her.
Now what?
