"Margaret!"

William’s anger surged as he grabbed her by the neck, his dark eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that could crush her soul. "I’m giving you one last chance. Do you really want to leave?"

Margaret endured the suffocating pain, a bitter smile tugging at her lips. "William, there’s no more chance for us."

Before she could even finish the sentence, she felt his grip tighten, almost choking the life out of her.

Just when she was on the brink of suffocation, William suddenly loosened his hold.

He pushed her away with disgust, turning instead to embrace Amelia. His voice was cold, almost mocking. "Margaret, you want to go? Fine. Amelia can't handle her alcohol. If you drink the toasts for her, I’ll let you go."

Margaret's eyes instantly welled up.

William knew full well that she was allergic to alcohol, and with her current condition, she could barely even touch it. But she couldn’t bear to stay any longer.

Clenching her fists, she held her head high, her gaze unwavering. "Fine. I’ll drink."

The cold liquor burned as it slid down her throat, and immediately, red rashes spread across her neck, her body aching with a pain that felt unbearable.

She stared at William’s cold eyes, pushing glass after glass of the liquor down her throat.

Just finish it, William. After this, we’ll never meet again in this life!

"Enough. Stop drinking!"

The glass was yanked from her hand.

Her blurred vision met Benjamin’s worried face, and he frowned deeply, his voice low. "If you must drink, I’ll drink it for Margaret."

William’s face turned ashen. In a fit of rage, he kicked Benjamin to the ground.

"Benjamin!"

Margaret, alarmed, tried to reach out to help him, but William gripped her arm tightly.

He yanked her close, his red eyes filled with icy contempt. "Feeling sorry for him? There are still over two thousand more cups. Do you want to keep going?"

Margaret’s body went stiff, a wave of despair rising from the depths of her heart.

"Amelia, why did you do this to me?"

"Because I love William too, but he’ll always have his eyes only for you!"

Fury coursed through Margaret as she lunged at Amelia, grabbing her hair. The two women tumbled to the ground, struggling fiercely.

But soon, Margaret’s frail, ailing body could not hold up against Amelia’s strength. She was pinned to the floor.

Margaret’s heart felt like it had died, a cold, bitter laugh escaping her lips. "Amelia, William hates people who deceive him. He will never forgive you!"

Suddenly, Amelia drew a knife and thrust it toward Margaret. "I know that. But if you die, William will never know this secret!"

The bathroom door was kicked open with a loud crash.

William stormed in, his eyes bloodshot. "Stop!"
