Isabella's POV

Waking up in the morning I dreaded seeing Devon today. Sighing I got off my bed the same time Megan got in.

She walked to me,gave me a hug and kissed my forehead before saying three words that shocked me," It was fate."She sent me a smile before leaving my bedroom with me standing there still trying to register what she meant by that.

I ate breakfast with my dad then he dropped me off at Devon's house. Standing at Devon's gate was nerve wrecking,but I swallowed my nerves and punched in the code and walked into the property.

I didn't even have to knock as I got to the door, because it was opened by Daniella before I got there.

"Hi." I greeted her with a wave and a smile.

"Hey, Devon left early so I guess you are stuck with me for the day." She said squealing in happiness.

Chuckling I answered," I guess I am."

"Please come in." She said as she moved away from the door to make space for me to enter.

"Miss Isabel!" Yelled Sophie as she excitedly ran towards me.

"Hey Munchkin,how are you?" I asked as I picked her up.

"I'm gweat." She answered smiling. It was so cute how she said 'gweat' instead of 'great'.

"Have you had your breakfast?" I asked her as I walked towards the kitchen with her still in my arms and Daniella behind us.

"Nope,Aunt Dani was about to make us breakfast." She said giving me a toothy grin.

"I was about to make us some cereal, cooking and I are enemies to cut it short it's a disaster waiting to happen for me." Chuckled Daniella.

I honestly broke into fits of laughter. Daniella seems like a person I might get along well with in the long run."I could make you guys some waffles." I offered as I walked into the kitchen as I calmed down.

"Please do." Said Daniella as she took a seat on one of the chairs infront of the counter.

Devon's POV

I sat in my office with my mind elsewhere. I'm really worried about Isabella,but how could I not,she is my mate after all. I can tell that something has been bothering her and Jace is starting to get restless because he's also concerned for his mate.

I looked at my wedding ring which I had moved to my right finger after I met Isabella.

"Sir." Called my Assistant Mia from the door.

Shaking my head I answered," Yes Mia,what is it?" I asked looking at her.

"Your meeting starts in 10 minutes and the board members and the client are waiting in the board room." She said.

"Thanks Mia. I'm on my way." I said putting on my suit jacket.

Isabella's POV

Sighing he answered," Sophie's mom also known as my wife died four years ago." He quietly said as a traitor tear left his eye.

To be honest that left me speechless and surprised. What I felt the most was sadness for him. Losing a loved one is not easy and I am sad that he went through that.

"She's the woman in all the pictures,isn't she?" I softly asked as I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him as a form of comfort. He then surprisingly kissed my cheek.

"I'm okay now. She was the love of my life and I never thought that I would fall in love after her. Her death took a toll on me,but Sophie was my anchor and she still is." He said with so much adoration for his daughter and that just melted my heart.

"We were told that pregnancy would be too much for her body to handle and it was difficult for her to conceive. When she got pregnant with Soph, we were all so happy,but we were concerned for her health." Taking a deep breath he continued with tears blaring his vision.

Seeing him like this broke my heart into pieces. I wish I could take away his pain and sadness and I regret asking that stupid question.

"Through her pregnancy she didn't have any complications and that gave us hope that she would be okay. Then she gave birth to Sophie and there were still no red flags. She was completely healthy and normal,so we didn't suspect a thing.

Two days later it all went downhill. She started going in and out of hospital until they admitted her. A couple of days later we received news from the hospital that she had passed away." He said now full blown crying with pools of tears running down his cheeks.

I pulled him closer to me and held him tightly in an effort to comfort him.

A couple of minutes later he calmed down and he pulled away a bit before chuckling." I know this may be a bit weird,but would you go on a date with me on, Saturday?" He asked inbetween hiccups.

"Yeah?" I said,well more like asked.

"Isabella,I believe I have fallen for you."
