Knock knock

"Come in"

"S...sir...sir the hospital called saying that Zoe your daughter is in the hospital and is in critical condition"

Meghan POV

"We got an emergency ambulance coming in from entrance 4 with a child in critical condition, I will need you and the others to attend that patient while I attend the other patient who is in the same position" Dr Summer told me

I nodded my head and ran to entrance 4 as fast as I could

When I got there, it was nothing like I have ever seen before, the child's whole head was bleeding and there was a thick long piece of glass on the side of her ribs. For some reason it really hurt me seeing her like that, but I wanted to save the child. She looked so lifeless and she looked so small, there was something familiar about her I just couldn't put my hands on it.

I snapped out of it when Jenny said "Meghan...can you help me by moving the child while I go to the nurses' station to request an immediate transfer to the theatre, we need to go into surgery now before she loses more blood than she already has " I simply nodded my head quickly pushed the stretcher towards the entrance and started running towards the theatre.

As I was running I couldn't help but feel very sad that she looked so lifeless and she opened her eyes and she looked like she was going to die. There was something about that little girl, I just did not know what it was, but I felt like saving her was my one and only duty.

"The patient name is Zoe, aged 4 and she was in a car accident while driving back from school. Apparently, she was not wearing a seatbelt and was flown from her seat when the accident occurred." Said one of the other nurses

"Ok" Said Doctor Frank

"We can begin, it will take some time to remove the glass for her rib" he said

I nodded my head, I felt the need to save this little girl's life, I had to, but I felt helpless as I was only a nurse and there was not much I could do but be given instructions and follow them. Doctor Summer walked in and I started helping him dress up for the operation.

"What is the condition of the girl" he asked while washing his hands

When I woke uo in the hospital years ago, I could not remember a single thing about my life before and try as I may I just cant remember, my head even hurts sometimes just trying. The neurologist told me to give myself time and not put too much pressure on myself, so I have been taking it a day at a time, though I still have many sleepless nights wondering of the person I could have been before; whether I was a good person, if I had a job, if I had a boyfriend or husband...(sigh) I wish I could remember.

"Meghan...Meghan did you hear what I said? What time are you leaving? It is 2 in the morning aren't you tired ?" Becca asked me

"Ummmmmm, yes my back is killing me but I have a patient I need to attend to before I leave , I also have to check on Peter, after all he has been working for 24 hours straight and he is my ride home " I replied

"That man is gorgeous I honestly don't understand why you don't just go for him," Nancy said

"Nah, he is not my type. I think of him as just a friend nothing more nothing less," I said and rolled my eyes

"You are actually very lucky he helped you with your application and placement for nursing, some of us had to send millions of applications and make thousands of calls just to get through the front door. So if I were you I would be worshipping the very ground Dr Summer walks on" she laughed

I simply rolled my eyes again at how dramatic she was being "What ever" I said as I walked out of the nurses' room. There was news doing rounds in the hospital that me and Dr Summer had a thing going on, I just could not care less.
