He smiled down at her and tucked her hair behind her ears as he leaned his forehead against hers. "Sam, please don't leave, he'll find you no matter where you go but I also don't want you to leave."
She closed her eyes tightly. "You promise I'll be safe?"
"I promise." He didn't know how he could make this promise.
"Okay, I'll stay." She whispered.
He pressed his lips to hers passionately. "Do me three favors, lock all the doors and windows when you get in, don't turn your light on when you get to your room, I don't want him knowing where you are staying at, and don't come out here until I come get you in the morning."
"I promise, goodnight Blake."
"Goodnight Baby." He kissed her again and turned to go.
Sam caught his arm tightly. "What if he slipped in while we were out in the barn?"
Blake bit his lip, he hadn't thought of that. "I'm sure Aaron's still up, nothing would get past him, I mean he hit the nail on the head with us."
Her face turned beat red. "You're sure?"
The uneasiness began to roll over him but he knew Aaron would also lose it if he was in the house for very long. He had two options, make sure this woman who he wanted was safe or keep his job. He laid his hand on the knob and opened the door. "Stay close to me."
Sam grabbed his hand and arm in her hands as they walked in. She closed the door and locked it. Blake went around checking all the windows and the back door, he checked all the rooms downstairs. He opened Aaron's bedroom and got thrown on his back. He let out a yell and Sam came running forward.
"Aaron!" She yelled.
"What the hell are you two doing?" He demanded. "Sorry Blake."
"All good." He coughed as he got up, some masculine protector he was being.
"Blake was just checking the house is all, to put me more at ease." She went up to Blake. "You okay?"
"I'm fine." He pulled away a little.
"Why would he have to check the house?" Aaron looked at them confusion all over his face.
"We were attacked when we went on our walk by my stalker, I just wanted to make sure he wasn't in here."
"Are you guys okay?"
"Yeah," Sam started. "I'm just really afraid Aaron." She moved into her brother's arms and hugged him tightly.
"Blake, go check the upstairs, lock everything, I'll stay with Sammy." He hugged her back and took her to the living room. "Are you okay with Blake staying in here tonight, it means more protection for you and honestly I don't want him out there by himself either."
Sam slipped into bed slowly and as soon as her head hit the pillow she was out.
Blake pulled his wife beater off and slid his sweatpants off. He laid his sunglasses on the night stand then slipped into bed, how was he supposed to sleep? How was he supposed to really protect Sam, he was fooling himself. He couldn't do this again, Layla had put her trust in him, so had his parents and he failed.
He let his sweet innocent baby sister down, this was going to be another repeat, only he'd let the woman he was falling for down. He gritted his teeth as his head hit the pillow. He just relaxed when he heard the muffled scream.
He jumped out of bed, snatched up his shades and ran. He flew into Sam's room where she was thrashing around on the bed, mumbling, moving like she was trying to get someone off of her.
Blake rushed to the side of the bed she was closest to. "Sammy, Sammy, wake up, I'm here, I'm right here, shhhh." He pulled her to him when her eyes snapped open. "Shhhh Baby, it's okay." He kissed her head gently and rocked her back and forth.
Sam clutched Blake's shoulders as the sobs shook her body. "Don't leave me, please don't."
"It was just a bad dream, nothing can hurt you in here, it's just the way your body's processing what's happened to you." He kept rocking her slowly as he rubbed her back and stroked her hair. She shivered and continued to cry, poor girl was ice cold.
Sam moved closer to the warmth Blake was putting off.
"Scoot over Baby," he whispered, he slid into bed beside her as she moved over. "Come here." He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his warmth.
Sam clung to Blake tightly, her head on his firm lightly hairy chest, her pale skinny leg over one of his thick tanned ones. He rubbed her back as she wrapped the blanket around them. "Blake," she mumbled and kissed him when he turned towards her. "Love me," she moaned. "Please just once."
