Aaron grew rigid. "What the hell?" He rushed to the living room and saw the front door wide open. "Oh no."
Blake came up behind Aaron. "She didn't."
"She must have heard you."
"Damn it." Blake rushed past Aaron, he didn't see her anywhere. "She's gone."
Aaron turned everything off and ran outside. "Alright, get two horses tacked up, I'll call Brady, we'll have to go find her."
"Is that a good idea?"
"She's my sister and I don't care how upset she is she's not being out on her own." Aaron grabbed his phone as Blake rushed to the barn.
Blake grabbed two horses, tacked them up quickly and rushed back to Aaron. Blake jumped up into the saddle of his horse and handed Aaron the reins to the other.
"You take the fence line, I'll work the woods and circle back around." Aaron took off in a gallop on the horse.
Blake rushed the horse down the fence as he scanned every inch of the open field and as far into the woods as he could. "Sam!" He hollered pulling the horse to a stop when he saw her leaning against a tree her body trembling. "Sam." He jumped off the horse and rushed over to her. He grabbed her shoulders and spun her towards him. "Baby, look at me." He laid his hands against her cheeks and tilter her head. "What are you doing?"
"Leave me alone." She sobbed out trying to pull away from him.
"It's too late for that, now come on let's get you home."
"I will, I'm not staying here anymore."
"I'm not letting that happen."
"Stop pretending to care, you didn't even want to stay in the house last night, I don't know why you even bothered to come to my room last night, you got what you wanted, now I'll leave, handle all of this on my own."
Blake dropped his hands from her cheeks and moved away as if he'd been slapped. He clenched his jaw, she didn't want his help, didn't need him just like everyone else. "Fine, that's the way you want this then fine, get on the damn horse, go back to the house now." Blake bit his cheek trying to fight the urge to gather her up into his arms and kiss her senselessly. She'd never have to see him again, it was for the best anyways.
Sam went to the horse and got on then headed back to the barn and house. She felt so empty.
Blake watched her ride away from him. He pulled out his phone to call Aaron. "I found her, and I'm leaving." He hung up the phone and headed back to the farm, he'd pack his things and go.
"Samantha, get in the damn house now!" Aaron yelled when they got to the barn at the same time. "You're so irresponsible and now I have to convince Blake to stay, just go." He snatched the reins from her and turned away from her when she went to say something.
Sam coward a little, then went into the house. It wasn't her fault he wanted to leave, he made all his own choices, just like she made hers and slept with him. She hated herself for it now. She went inside, rushed to her room and clocked herself in. She slid down the door and sat down in front of it as she balled again. He knew they shouldn't have, he had tried not to but she thought she had wanted him. She was wrong.
Aaron waited for Blake on the stairs to the loft. He stood when Blake walked in. "You can't leave."
"I have to Aaron, I can't keep worrying about someone who one could do better, two wants to do better, and three doesn't want to be worried about." Blake went to walk past Aaron.
Aaron grabbed his arm tightly. "What's going on?"
"I slept with her last night, happy?"
"Blake, you didn't." Aaron's mouth fell open in shock.
"You really going to be this difficult?" Aaron demanded.
"Just leave me alone."
"Fine!" He yelled back and stormed out of the house, he had too much work to do to be worried about a stupid, silly girl's feelings when he warned her to begin with.
Brady skidded to a halt next to Sam's truck. "Aaron, I came as soon as I got your message, what's going on?"
"Nothing now, Sam took off this morning but we found her," Aaron sighed. "Just a bunch of stupidity, let's get to work."
"She okay?"
"Yeah, I guess as okay as can be expected."
"Alright, I'll go start the fence rounds."
"Thanks," Aaron went to the barn. "Blake she's not coming out, so you should be okay for a while."
"Okay." Blake drove himself into work.
Aaron shook his head and walked away, he had to go into town. He did all he could do.
Sam sat in front of her door until everything began to hurt and cramp. She stood up slowly, she had to apologize to Blake but how to start. He had to stay here, it was his job and home. She just hoped he hadn't left yet. She went downstairs slowly and headed out to the barn.
