I don't know how I made it pass that wind throwing cold at me that went straight through my jacket, but I did. I cursed myself once looking at the wood, the snow had nearly covered the whole pile, meaning, if I took some back now, the wood would be damp and not lite. "What are you doing?"
Frightened, I spawn around to see who it was. Once recognizing the familiar face I sighed, "You scared me..."
'Sorry, didn't mean to," Levi chuckled gaining in the distance between us. "I saw you leave the tent, since I'm on my last walk around for night watch... and noticed you coming this way. I didn't know if you were in trouble or not, so-"
"Thank you!" I smiled gracious of him, "I was just coming to get wood since my fire is out..."
He nodded pointing over to where the moonlight didn't quite touch, "I can escort you back to your tent after getting some dry firewood that's in the material tent."
"Thanks."
"Don't mention it," I followed him, walking side by side in the snow. I glanced at his red hair, how the moonlight made it look like silk thread in the darkness. It flowed beautifully down his bare back stopping at where the tribe traditional cloth began, wrapping around his waste. "Is something wrong?" A smile formed on his lips causing my eyes to shoot up to his.
"How do you stay warm with so little... clothes?" He chuckled shrugging as we turned over to the material tent. Heading in, he grabbed the wood that was set up at the corner packing over 15 pieces thick before walking out. "Are you okay?"
'Yeah, to me this is just a little amount." Not to long were we(well I) back at my tent, Levi placed the wood in my empty stack of firewood grabbing a couple to restart the fire that grew out. "So you're not going to the mating dance?" he asked setting up the wood.
"What mating dance?"
He snickered looking back at me, "I thought you would be going with Austin or someone." I stared confused, what was he talking about? A mating dance, isn't that- "Austin left not to long ago."
'To the dance?" He nodded. "What is this dance about?"
"Levi," I called in anger nearly ready to rip this fucking cloth. He came in but stopped glancing at my naked frame in confusion.
"I said put it on, why are you... that?" He held his hands out taking the cloth from me and sighed.
"I tried putting it on but it won't stay!"
"Here," he placed an end of the cloth on my waist, bring the rest around then tucked the remaining of it in making it stay. The remaining end dangled against my thigh, stopping on the side of my knee. He pulled and extra piece of the same color and design out, but it was more transparent than the one on my waist. He wrapped it around the top right of my arm, wrapping it around then making a beautiful knot as the pieces dangled on my arm. "Hm, looks better than I thought. Lets go."
"What did you mean when you said I'll know when we get there? Why is it this color?" I asked jogging to meet his steps as he lead into the direction I'm guessing the dance was in.
"You'll know soon." he grinned as we came closer to a glimpse of light and multiple laughter. "Follow me and don't leave me side."
