A glimpse of brown hit the corner to my left moving deeper into the west wing of the forest. I Sniffed, inhaling every other wolfs scent repeatedly until the faint scent of warm metallic blood hit me. I tugged at Austins fur as he whined a bit, shaking off my grip, "Turn around!" He ignored me continuing to move swiftly between the narrow trees. I tugged again but harder, "TURN AROUND FLEA BAG!!" He growled stopping and throwing me off. I tumbled to the ground as he snarled before leaving. Well fuck you to... I stood running into the direction I had once saw the thin coat of brown fur. I inhaled, letting my sense of smell lead me over to where I had found the 2 fawns. They were scared, they shivered not because of the cold but because of their fear. I didn't get it how we could eat such harmless creatures, they were just trying to make a living just like us... I held out my hands, slowly and gently walking over to them, "Come...here~" One turned away running back a little, the other stood, to scared to move. "I won't hurt you, I promise." I smiled getting a bit closer to the little fawn. "Come on~" I sat, knelled down directly in front of it, holding out my arms, I didn't want to push my luck any farther. I just stayed there with my hands reaching out to the fawns.
One made progress to me, sniffing my hands before jumping into my arms. I laughed light rubbing the fawns head, it was so cute!! The fawn seemed to cease the shivering as I picked it up sharing my jacket with it. I started to walked away until I heard tiny little footprints following behind. I looked see the other fawn prancing to catch up on my side. I smiled resuming my pathway until a shit load of wolves surrounded me. The fawn pressed up against my leg trembling as the wolves began to shift into humans. "You caught them all by yourself weakling?" Thomas asked walking up to me as his pack followed. I hated him, he was such an ass. He also used to bully me because I was the chief son, and now I'm stuck here with him. I didn't bother to answer, rather I tried to keep walking but was held back by a hand. "I'm talking to you. Where's you pack boy?"
A sharp cry from the fawn bellow made me realized Thomas had picked it up from the neck examining at as if it were a piece of fried chicken. "What are you doing!??" I screamed as he looked at me, "Put the fawn down! You're hurting it!"
"Hurting it?" Everyone chuckled in amusement, "These creatures were born to be eaten, loser!!" I growled remembering I had a fawn in my hand but still!! "Angry, boy? What are you going to do? Hit me?" I lowered my head as they laughed again, it wasn't funny, these assholes were doing something wrong. I mean I've eaten deer before but these fawn's haven't even gotten the chance to see how life was yet? Thomas snatched the fawn from me pushing me back as I fell on my ass. "Let us hold this, I bet it's to heavy for you."
"Great, I'm starving!!" Eliza cheered following Thomas as they threw the fawns on the ground. The fawns fought to get to me but they held them back. Tears stung my eyes as I stood standing in front of the fawns.
"I found them fair and square, go find your own." I basically mumbled.
'Maybe it's just me but do you want to get beaten? By 1 people in fact? AT ONCE!? Their fawns, just let them go!'
I shook my head no as Thomas pushed me back to the ground again, "Don't screw with us boy, you can't even shift, now you're trying to turn your food into your pet?" He laughed, "You better leave before we put you on the menu." The way the menu escaped his lips sent chills down my spine, he couldn't eat his own kind. He just couldn't.
"Yes?" I stopped brutally making the fawns stop to. He rose his eye brown in questioned, "Sir?"
"Never mind, come, all of your pack. The Oath must be given."
Oath, is what he said, he lied. We've been standing in front of the whole entire tribe listening to him ramble on about pointless crap. I exhaled sharply wanting to rip my ears from my head, this was a pain in the ass. Austin nudged me as I straightened up instead of slumping over like I've been doing for the past 3 hours!! "Here," Malakai said handing us what looked like a deformed(crafted by 2nd graders) looking bracelet. The tough brown leather strip holding powered blue beads that blended out against the latte and chocolate brown beads. Even if the beads were horribly shaped, it didn't stop the gloss they gave off, nearly making one believe the bracelet was beautiful. The silver symbols implanted into the beads confused me. How the hell was I suppose to know what they meant? "You may leave," Malakai whispered softly and bow half of the original bows. Once we started to leave, the tribe members whistled(except for packs filled with jealousy). Honestly, I didn't understand why these damn bracelets were so important.
