"What are we doing?"

Austin glared at me, "What do you mean 'what'? I'm going to make you shift."

Shift? Shift!? Is that what he really just said!? I laughed out loud making him flush in anger. I held my breath trying not to laugh anymore as I smiled at him, "I don't know if you got the picture by now, but my shifts happen randomly and I cannot control them." That was another reason why I couldn't go to school with normal people. One time in 3rd grade this stupid snot nose girl threw some glue at me, and I had a bad temper when I was little so I screamed at her. But she insisted in throwing multiple objects at me!! I could feel my blood boil with anger and I shifted(on accident of course). Thank God our stupid teacher was part of our clan because that girl ended up bringing her mom to school crying like an idiot. I should have bit her-

"Chance!" His husky voice roared, nearly causing me to fall over.

"W-WHAT!?!?"

"Focus dammit!" I nodded as he punched me. And not just a normal punch. I mean when you tell someone to put their back into it, HE DID! I felt my entire body lift up from under me and fly back as I brutally hit the ground. I laid mindless on the ground for a while questioning my mind. 'Did he just...hit me?'

'Yes you idiot, he punched the shit out of you too.' My inner wolf laughed as I sat up rubbing my nose that felt like its been punched in. I groaned as the pain finally hit me, "You...why did you punch me!?"

"Because you weren't focusing." I think you've just earned yourself the title of 'CAPTAIN ASSHOLE!!' I stood wiping the blood that started to trickle out of my nose. "Now, come here."

"Nu uh." I back away putting my arms in front of me as if they could really defend me. This dude was fucking insane, this was the first time someone knowing who I am threaten to hit me for a reason like that! He came forward, well I thought he did until he shifted, disappearing. Now, now you wouldn't leave a defenseless boy in the woods all alone would you?

'He would.'

I cursed my wolf for answering me.

'Well, I'm the only one you got right now. Oh by the way, watch out behind you.'

'I don't want to talk to you- what?' A large some of black fur tackled me to the ground and pounced off of me, landing swiftly on the ground with the tip of his paws. I groaned feeling as if my ribs cracked in, "You...have no decency at all do you?" The black wolf pranced around me daringly with the look of arrogance. I sighed which painfully hurt my chest, this wasn't going to be good.

'Nope, not at all.'

-

"Yeah yeah, get dressed." I growled, grabbing the clothes and heading out of the room. I stared down the empty hall way inhaling deeply, great. Now My scent wasn't working. I stepped into the restroom preparing my shower as I looked into the mirror. My curly light brown hair was sticking up everywhere, my pale stomach abs-less and no muscles on my arms. I couldn't blame anyone for thinking I was weak, I was. Punched the mirror, luckily it didn't break but my knuckles felt like shit! Jesus, that hurt!

'Naw!! You just punched a mirror, it's suppose to feel good!'

"Shut up..." I quickly took my shower and dressed into the baggy black sweat pants, white fitted under shirt and a red winter vest jacket with a hood. I'm surprised he gave me a jacket, usually he would let me freeze. I headed down stairs finding Austin and the pack members ready... "I thought it wasn't till 8:45."

"It's not," Jett sneered, "But one of our pack members can't quiet shift right." Austin ripped Jett from his chair, holding him in the air as he glared.

"Before worrying about others, worry about yourself. Don't let the deer out run you this time." Austin released his grip making Jett fall, I wanted to laugh but I really had no right too. Austin noticed my worried glances and slapped Milo slightly against the head, "Alright, lets get going."

I followed behind quietly as all five of my pack members shifted once we hit the snow. I didn't even bother trying, It would just be another embarrassment. The black wolf pulled me from my feet throwing me on his back. I grabbed tightly onto his fur shutting my eyes, please God, Don't let me mess this up like last time...

Malakai stood at the entrance to the north forest, our hunting ground, as each pack lined up. "There is a deer, followed by two fawns. Hunt it, kill it, do what you want. But leave some evidence of what your pack caught. The Pack who gets all, will be given a chance for the Oath." I fidgeted pacing nervously back and forth. The others hadn't shifted yet, each pack waited eagerly for Malakai to set off the stampede. I prayed he would stall enough but my luck ran out, "Go!!" Every person in front of me took off on feet shifting as they ran...as for me. The agonizing teeth snapped at my jacket, causing me to fall onto the black fur once again. Jett had already shifted and so did Milo. The other two pack members, Forrest and Silas, had shifted out after getting at least 4 feet into the forest. Austin, using the tip of his paws to tackle the ground bounced from one tree to the other making it harder for me to hold on.
