I didn’t even understand why they were fighting, I mean they were perfectly fine that time when Austin was ignoring me. It had nothing to do with me, well a little bit but still, to want to kill each other just from their presences now? “They’re fighting over the top alpha spot.” my wolf informed me like usual. Oh, that’s right! I’ve completely forgotten all about it since we came to this our allied tribe.
Austin still is our number one alpha, and my brother was second to best. My brother wanted to be the number one, no matter what, he wanted father to be proud of him. But due to the fact that he’s only 15 while Austin’s 19, it brought and uproar excitement back home. Giving in exception for Trent being the chief son they allowed him to compete, even though his stats were already higher than people his age and older. He could be side by side Austin in stats but he was not, some said it was my fault, but it wasn’t.
“Can you guys stop fighting just for right now please?” I begged as Austin looked back at me before shoving Trent away. Heading this way again he was interrupted by Trent as my brother jumped in front of him and sat beside me quickly.
“Are you alright?” He asked with a worried expression that couldn’t have been faked. I nodded and smiled showing him that I was, if he became too worried he would definitely start more fights with Austin thinking it was him who caused it. “That’s good!”
“Oh, did you come looking for me for something?” I asked noticing as Austin went over to the pit hole examining it.
“Yeah, I forgot!”
A chuckle out of stupidity was heard from the side of us as we glanced at Austin, “forgot what he came here for... pssh, idiot.”
A low growl came from Trent that was directed to Austin but soon enough, he calmed himself. Regaining his regular smile, and getting happy gradually he move around to changing his seating. His golden brown curls bouncing with his movement before he stopped, “We um... well ‘they’ found father. He went to another allied tribe and was on his way over here not to long ago before they ran into him.”
I stiffened at the word ‘father’ and I could feel that Austin did too as a tense atmosphere surround us. “So...” I stuttered trying to search for something to say. Was I supposed to force a fake smile on my face and lie saying that’s great? On the other hand it would be much better to just tell him clearly that I didn’t care, also I didn’t want to hear anymore of father from him? However, I was too afraid to even do that. “F-father’s here...?”
“Yup, and the reason I came here for, was to get you. Father said he wanted to see you.” To see me he said, what could father possibly want with me? “Immediately…”
The distance to the campsite dreadfully came close, even if it was only 5 minutes to get back. The site travel usually took time because either I was on my wits end to go back, or just plan bored with having nothing to do. Yet, I'm sure Trent was having a bit of good time on the way there. Non-stop he easily but slowly snatched me away from Austin talking about father or non-consistent things. Austin tried to get me back but I ended up on the left side of Trent and him on Trent's right.
"Ugh..."Austin huffed harshly at my brother. It was kind of cute of how he was getting angry over this but then again, when was he not?
"Oh, chance!-"Trent shouted but Austin bluntly cut him off.
"Chance!"Austin pulled me to him as he roughly placed his lips on mine. Quickly his hand wrapped around my waist squeezing me to him. Both Trent and I were instantly shocked and Austin’s grip grew tighter so I wouldn't run away. And why would I run away you ask? Well, the kiss wasn't for me, it was for Trent. And like suspected, it worked.
