“Chance,” he spoke as the tears slowly eased out of my stingy eyes, they followed a trail down my cheeks as I felt the warmth liquid show just how emotionally weak I was. The trails of tears were quickly wiped away before they stained my face by two warm thumbs as his hands cupped my face. “I know you have little self confidence but you have to try. Even if you are afraid of not being able to shift properly, try. It will take time to learn and we have all the time we need.”

I know, I am just… Okay.” I sighed.

“You can, just concentrate,” he smiled slightly before placing his warm lips to mine warming them up. It was a short yet pleasurable kiss that also gave me a bit of confidence not just warmth.

Removing the warmth from my face, he backed away moving over by where he was at first. I sighed closing my eyes once more and tried focusing my mind. First to clear my mind. Vanish all negative, useless, and inappropriate thoughts. I exhaled lightly, then inhaled but this time longer until the sound of air I sucked no longer left a trace of sound. All I saw was black. It was pitch black even though we were suppose to be outside while the sun was still up? Wait, was it even still up? I don’t remember-

“Chance, focus.”

I nodded silently showing him I was trying. Okay, now picture myself as a wolf? What do I even look like? A white fluffy hairball? Ugh. Austin said that when I shifted last time accidentally, that my wolf eyes were a light green. I also know that my wolf isn’t as big as the others, I was pretty small to be in the pack… an grown up runt who was still smaller than the others. I could picture my tail perfectly as I placed the last piece together getting the full picture in my head. The white wolf’s whose fur fluffed up and let wind pass through it with ease.

Thirdly was the feelings right? The bottom of my paws pressing down into the snow, each leg getting pressure added to it as I relax relying on my legs to stand. I’m sure if I rolled around in the snow I would blend in easily since their always saying my wolf is white as snow. I wouldn’t even be cold thanks to the fur covering my skin and keeping me warm. It would be fun to just lay down and relax in the snow without worrying about freezing to death. That would be fascinating to be able to finally feel how it would be to-

“Chance!!!” My eyes shot open fiercely as I felt a light thump. A cold draft of wind, no air that was already freezing cold started to touch my bare skin again. When did it stop?

“You idiot!!!” Austin shouted as I glanced at him marching over to where the voice came from to find Trent running over here. Austin quickly shoved at his chest causing him to slip on snow and fall, “he had it!!!”

“What the fuck!?” As the other chief number one son, Trent was back on his feet in no time throwing vicious swings at Austin. Sadly but knowing Austin, he fought back, dodging some hits and taking some. Even of the damage he took, most of his hits were in.

“G-guys!!!” I rushed to my feet but fell down immediately, for some reason my legs were weak.

“Is that all you got?” My brother smirk after spitting out some blood that was oozed out from the new cut in his lip. Austin just chuckled provoking him more, and if this continued, it would be a blood bath.

“NO!”

“HE’S MY BROTHER I SAY LET GO!!!!!”

“HE’S MY BOYFRIEND!! YOU LET GO!!”

“CAN Y’ALL JUST GET ME OUT OF THIS HOLE!?!?!” I shouted in a panic as I dangled over the hole in the ground. How could they be arguing over something so stupid?

“Okay,” Austin kicked Trent off as he tumbled over in the snow. I was quickly pulled out and set on my feet. “Are you okay?”

“Shouldn’t you be asking my brother that?” I laughed lightly before collapsing to the ground. My legs had gave out and I was shaking, that had clearly scared me, what was a pit hole doing in the mountains? My heart was racing, and it all started up again as Austin and Trent began to fight once more.
