I tripped over a thick root falling flat on my face that gave me a wide awakening. My wolf burst out in laughter as a light flash seeing as he showed him self. He pranced around me laughing as I pulled my helpless self up wiping the snow from my body. "Well, thanks for the help." I shivered sitting down fully in the snow spreading my already exhausting legs out in the snow. This was pitiful, I've only been walk for about 20 minutes and was for some warmth.
'Lets you know you won't make it in the packs,' I glared at him, a white glow gleaming around him letting me know he was transparent.
I sighed standing but fell back down in pain. I looked down at the problem, not only was the bottom of my feet bleeding from sharp rocks but there was a swelling around my ankle where I tripped. "You got to be kidding me."
'Can you go an hour without getting hurt by nature?' I shook my head no pulling my leg back to poke around the swollen knot on my ankle. Hopefully this would go down soon before I found Austin or the 4 days ended. He would get pissed.
I tried once more to stand, excruciating pain shot through my leg as I forced my foot all the way down flat. Wincing at the pain I limped over to a tree for support. I glanced behind me to find my wolf walking towards me shaking his head. Trying to ignore what he was silently telling me, I tried to walk making my self stumble and catch my balance on a different tree. It really hurt. I didn't know roots were freaking dangerous, why didn't anyone tell me that!? Ugh. I pouted leaning against the tree, I just wanted to be next to Austin. I closed my eyes sighing desperately against the tree. What should I do?
I could go back, which wouldn't take as long as trying to find Austin. Then I would have to face Karla and my dad explaining why my ankle is all twisted up. Or, I could limp all the way to Austin(hopeing that I do find him soon) and explain to him that my body nor brain could live without him if he was more than 100 yards away. That would probably subside his anger at my ankle. I guess it was to Austin then, right after I rested my weak body.
'Chance...' my wolf growl snarling at foul scent that took my nose a while to pick up. I opened my eyes glancing in the direction he setup his defense. Well now wasn't this out of the ordinary. I pushed away from the tree, my leg still bent up from the pain.
"What... who is it?" I asked moving back around the tree hiding from the entrance my wolf snarled at.
"Chance," he chuckled standing and walking over to the middle of a spot of cleared trees raising his hands in defense. "If I wanted to hurt you again I would have done so."
"You're just waiting for my guard to drop...again." I growled standing but stumbling a bit as my ankle was throbbing painfully now.
"Don't be ridiculous, we both know I wouldn't have to wait for your guard to drop." He chuckled again causing my face to heat up in embarrassment. So what if I sucked at defending myself!? Did not give him the right to do what he did to me.
My wolf had disappeared by now leaving me alone to face with Milo. And trust me, I was scared shitless. Knowing Milo had the rights to my mark meant he could do whatever he wanted to me. God, why didn't I just go to training and listen to Austin!? Damnit!
