"Milo." I called as he nodded standing. I began to follow after he started walking, sliding my feet against the cold gritty stone floor due to my laziness to fully pick up my feet an walk correctly. It was actually a couple of more slides before I realized the light from out side of the cave was dimming, and the darkness was growing. I moved closer to the wall, sliding my hand against it, for it to be my eyes in the dark but it failed. The darker it grew, and the fact that I could no longer see Milo, my heart sped up in panic.
"M-Milo..." I huffed as I backed away from the darkness as I stared into darkness scared. I back away until a warm fleshy feeling grabbing me, causing me to flinch.
"Its okay, Its just me..." Milo whispered softly as I could hear a smile in his voice. I nodded frantically trying to calm down as he slipped his hand in mine as he started walking again, pulling slowly. I slid my feet against the floor as I squeezed tightly on Milo's hand, walking blindly in this cave.
"...how long?" I exhaled realizing I was holding my breath.
"Hmm?"
"Till... sunlight-" I mumbled as I saw a twinkle of light that started to fade into more as we reached the exit. God bless! I walked faster as Milo chuckled and matched my speed, which wasn't too hard for him.
Before we even stepped a foot out of the cave, nice cool breezes that only made me colder were blowing. The stream was right at the edge, flowing with a powerful speed, mostly splashing its water onto the rocks and ground as it lead down east into a somewhat waterfall. There was grass under my feet now, visible particles of snow and patches of it every now and then, but most health green grass. I followed Milo as I stared amazed, who would have found such a beautiful place behind such darkness?
"Let's sit here." Milo smiled pointing to a spot that was all grass and had a covering of the cave from it to block most of the snow from falling on us.
"Let's not." Growled the familiar voice as I spun desperately to find it. Just there, across from the edge and on the other side of the stream, there stood Austin. My heart felt as if it dried up like an grape leaving me breathless as I felt my eyes start to water out of happiness...
"I swear I didn't know Levi would find us here-" he began but was cut mid sentence.
"Of course sweet little Milo didn't. If I had said so, then he would have never come. And now that its all settled, how about a celebration party?" Levi smiled walking closer to the stream as Austin sensed something and quickly scooted back as he planted his foot on the ground firmly.
"Chance, Run!!" Austin screamed as I glanced as he broke off into a full accelerated sprint as he leaped in the air a couple of feet before the stream and shifted as the cave we had just came out of, came swarming out a herd of xlyous wolves. Before I could even see if Austin made the jump, Milo grabbed my arm as he sprinted down the long grass edge where blood thriving wolves were right behind us.
I tried my best to keep up, but Milo was practically dragging me with him as I stumbled over my feet. He pulled me up front, pushing me in the back as I nearly fell forward but landed on a mountain of moving fur. Milo... I quickly tried to sit up as I grabbed handfuls of his fur trying my best to hang on as the movement of his body, and the forceful wind slapping me in the face made it hard. My blanket ended up being torn away from me by the wind as the wolves moved faster, gaining on us.
