"Claire!" She cut me off with a slight pitch in her tone.
"It's the law. A supernatural community is not allowed to interfere with other supernatural communities affairs without permission. I am a Witch and therefore need permission from my Regent before doing anything to help your Werewolf community."
"There's no time!" I raised my voice in desperation while tears gradually encroached my eyes. "This man in question is my Mate!" I cried.
"At least if you're not going to do this favour for me, consider my Father's friendship."
Her stern face melted into sadness and for the first time, her eyes lowered to the marble floor. As if she were contemplating.
"I know this means breaking the rules but my mate's life is in danger here, he doesn't have much time left and you're the only person I trust who can help me. Please, Lilith."
She heaved a sigh after minutes of silence between us. Her eyes returned to mine and a tiny smile birthed on her face.
"Your Father would have broken this rules for me too. Besides, I consider you my family and I guess breaking a few laws wouldn't hurt much."
I heaved a sigh of relief as I lowered my head for a brief moment.
"Thank you so much." I mumbled in a broken voice and a tiny smile.
"But," she pointed out. "What if in the later end, we find out that your Mate is indeed guilty?"
Silence reigned for minutes till I finally found my tongue.
"Then I'm going to die with him." I answered and she smiled. A smile of admiration.
I nodded like an obedient child and planned to use the door but then it struck me, that this was an open garden. No doors, just gardens that extended to infinity.
"Eclypdia!" Lilith pitched as she flipped her right thumb against her index and behold we were back at her home again.
I froze in my stance, petrified at her skilled use of magic.
"Come on Claire, are you going to remain there or save your dear mate?" Lilith's voice jolted me back to reality and only then did I realize she was already at her exit door. Waiting for me.
I took a deep breath before following after her. I had found a solution but it didn't soothe me. On one hand, I had found a way to save my mate but on the other hand, I was suddenly petrified by the the uncertain truth.
That my brother, killed our Father.
