The tweeting of birds, a familiar honey scent and the comfort of a bed slowly brought me back to life.
My eyes faintly opened to a room illuminated by the sun rays coming from the window above me. The bed was different. It was larger than mine and the bed sheets were a spotless design of velvet green. It was exactly in sync with the colour of the large room. A spotless shade of green. I didn't know this room yet it felt so welcoming and peaceful.
Series of sparks emanated from my bare chest and spiralled across the rest of my body. It forced me to look down and there I saw her pretty fingers. Laying peacefully on my tattoo. My eyes briskly darted to my side, and there she was, my beautiful mate staring at me deeply.
I turned towards her and my hand wrapped across her bare waist. I didn't care as to how we were naked or how I arrived here, in her room. All I cared for was her. She was safe and so was I. Even though she didn't wear a smile but just tears that streamed her cheeks.
"What happened?" I asked as I gently wiped her tears off with my thumb.
"You fainted." She mumbled. "You were barely healing from your injuries and so I had to try an old trick again." She pursed her lips as tears soaked her eyes again.
"Share your pain while my Wolf healed you."
I inched closer to her, so our foreheads touched.
"I'm so sorry." I mumbled. "For everything, for making you go through so much pain and agony for an undeserving mate like me."
She held my cheek.
"Don't ever say that again, Kev. You're my perfect mate. I love you."
Her warm breaths swarmed across my cheeks and it made me close the distance between us. Her breasts were rocking against my chest and our legs were intertwined beneath the sheets.
"I love you too." I whispered. "So much."
"Then promise me, promise me never to be a fool and just die for nothing!" She cried and I smiled. "Promise me you won't ever leave your mate in a painful way. Promise me Kev."
