After what is the longest ride of my life – both figuratively and literally as I've never been anywhere beyond an hour or so past our pack territory before, we finally arrive at the Midnight Pack. It is much larger than where I came from, easily four times the size and strength and Alpha Kace's house is much larger than what Alpha Daddy has but not any fancier, or nicer.
It sure is beautiful though.
A log cabin, ranch style in the middle of a small clear in the woods clearly using only the materials round locally including stone on the fireplaces and stairs. The house is stunning and my home for the rest of my life.
It looks like a gorgeous prison.
I follow Alpha Kace inside where he introduces me to Mary and Louise, the two mated she-wolves who work in his house keeping it clean and cooking his meals when he is home. He tells me that since I'm such a great cook, that'll now be my job.
He tells me.
I start wondering if I should get out a pen and paper to take notes.
Mary and Louise will still help out whenever I get busy – he figures once I take on my Luna duties that will happen sometimes, especially with a pack the size WE have. He is already referring to me as if I belong to the pack while in the same breath telling me how I really 'belong' to him – the only thing missing is the neanderthal-like tossing me over his shoulder and shouting 'mine!' at me. I'm waiting for him to start talking to me about pups – I know it is just a matter of time. I follow him upstairs where he stops in front of a closed door.
"This will be your bedroom for now, until you're ready to share a room and bed with me – I won't rush you Penelope," he promises me like some kind of superhero. Apparently, he's only going to force me to leave my home against my will today, not spread my legs – yet. I know he won't let me refuse forever, eventually my 'obligation' as a breeder will be called into action.
My Mom was an amazing Luna – or so I'm told. I have few memories but Mary and Louise, both of whom were here when she was, have told me how well she balanced motherhood and her responsibilities to the pack. She somehow never let anyone down and still managed to cook more nights than not – I want to be as supportive as I can so Penelope is able to do that as well. I have no doubt balancing motherhood and work has to be difficult if not nearly impossible so anything I can do as her partner, I will.
She is far too relieved to be in her own room, Kace. This is not going well – you suck! Phoenix snarls at me, displeased with my progress as I dress for dinner. Father is going to be there and will meet Penelope for the first time – I'm scared to death of his reaction. I make my way to Penelope's door to escort her and knock on her door. When she opens it, I'm pleased to see she followed my directions – I hate being one of 'those' guys but my father is extremely particular about these things and it is just easier to play along. I want this meeting to go perfectly and him picking a fight over something stupid like her outfit would not be a good start.
I offer her my arm which she ignores, choosing instead to walk behind me rather than beside me. Whenever I stop for her to catch up, she stops as well, refusing. Eventually I give up and simply guide her to the diningroom where I can scent my father is already waiting. I open the door and move aside for her to enter first, noting how tiny she really is – easily two feet shorter than me or damn close. I'm going to have a broken back by the time I'm thirty, staying with her – I'm sure she's worth it.
Now I just need my father to see that.
