I opened the door to find the room in complete darkness.

Once I turned on the lights, I saw John sitting on the sofa, looking dazed.

"Andrew, why is it so dark? You startled me," I said playfully.

John stood up slowly as he saw me and walked toward me.

I found myself cornered against the wall with no way to escape.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" I asked, showing genuine concern.

John embraced me and said: "I'm just tired. I'm heading to bed now."

Before I could react, John hurried upstairs.

I went to the study and noticed that the beauty clinic brochure had been returned to its place. I tore it up and threw it away.

To ease John's suspicions, I booked two movie tickets and invited him to join me.

The film was about a twin who murders her sister, assumes her identity, and lives with the sister's boyfriend. In the end, the boyfriend uncovers the truth but doesn't reveal it until the police get involved and arrest the twin.

I walked ahead, and John followed, calling out softly: "Sophia?"

I stopped and looked back: "Yes? What's up?"

"People's reactions to their names can be telling. Did you respond quickly enough?" John's tone was probing.

I gave a slight smile, trying to defuse the situation: "What are you implying?"

John shook his head: "Nothing, I must be overthinking it."
