Put forward her own demands? Was this lady crazy? What the hell was she going to do with that kind of money? Run a country? No way she could ask for more.
Veronica turns to face Michael who is absentmindedly dangling his crossed leg and then his lawyer who is waiting for an answer.
"Twenty million is just fine." She manages to say with a hoarseness in her voice and her answer catches Michael's attention. He raises an eyebrow at Naomi who shrugs and then he turns to look at Veronica in complete and total wonderment.
"Are you sure you aren't interested in an increase? We understand that pregnancy is not an easy task and that the circumstances surrounding this pregnancy aren't going to be ideal for you either. We are open to negotiations concerning your compensation."
Michael says still in shock at her statement, she was going to give up her child for God's sake.
"Twenty million is more than okay. If you are worried about compensating me for the loss of a child then you must know that no amount of money will ever be enough compensation."
She says softly and Naomi nods understandingly while stealing a glance at Michael who is still staring in utter surprise at Veronica.
After a few moments of awkward silence. Naomi arranges herself in her seat then continues.
"Your accommodation during the pregnancy will not be your place of residence.
In fact, I went out of my way to state here that you and Mr.Grahamsteen will be sharing the same accommodation." She says before easing back into her chair in anticipation of the arguments that both Veronica and Michael will bring forward.
"She can't stay at my house, Naomi. You know how I am, I do not live with people." Michael hisses, making Veronica to cringe at his statement.
So chesty, who would want to live with you anyways? She thinks angrily to herself. She had heard so many things about him in the media, how he was lofty and proud but she never once judged him according to what she had heard. Big mistake, she thought to herself.
She is also not accepting of this proposal and puts forward her own complaints.
