Michael ploughs down into his chair in despair. What was he thinking? He would never convince her to do this and if he did, he would never forgive himself for such selfishness on his own part. She was very correct to be so pissed and had every right to tell him off. The problem was that after seeing her, he was in no state to find another surrogate. He wanted Veronica to be the one to do this, he didn't care if the clock was ticking, he just knew that it was either her or no one else. Fuck the inheritance, fuck it all.

The door flies open and William walks in half startled and half disoriented.

"Why'd the meeting end so soon?" He gives Michael a look of concern.

Michael's grimace from earlier on is restored to his face.

"You forgot to mention to her that it was her own eggs that would be used, you brain-dead fool. You forgot to mention to her that very important piece of information!"

He forms his hand into a fist and yells in distress at a now flinching William.

"I'm sorry bro. It must've slipped my mind." William says apologetically.

"Well, a lot of things slip your mind, William." He says with a sigh as he hangs his hands on his waist, retreating to his pensive state.

"We can always find another surrogate." William murmurs and Michael eyes him with even more scorn, wishing he would just shut the fuck up.

"That's the thing you dim-wit. You're biggest mistake was bringing her in here to meet me, now I want no one else but her to have this baby."

He continues to wear his pensive look.

"I'm not in any way trying to bust your bubble, Michael. But knowing Veronica, there's no way in hell she's coming back here. Once she decides something, that's it. There's no playing games with her, she's straight to the point." William rambles on.

Michael strides slowly towards the door, still deep in thought.

"Well, she doesn't look like the type to just decide to be a surrogate anyway. Something was important enough to bring her here today, let's just hope it is still important enough to make her return. We will give her time, I'm not letting her go." He declares.

Michael turns to look at a more than confused William. Of course he would not understand a thing he just said.

"How's it going?"

He sighs. "Could be better, you?"

"Just fine." Genevieve continues to wear her warm smile.

A few moments of silence pass by before Genevieve puts away the document and diverts her concentration to Michael.

"Won't you ask me how my trip went?" She asks giving him a childish grin.

Michael chuckles, his mother could be a handful at times.

"Your trips are always wonderful, I got tired of asking. By the way, Naomi sends her greetings."
