I guess at this point I should have known that nothing ends well when I and Angel are put in the mix.

I'm currently standing at the same spot she left me, in her room, thinking back to all she said before she left.

" Don't be?"

"Is that suppose to make me feel better?"

She asked with sarcasm after I blurted out what I did.

Before I could get a word in, She had started talking again.

"You make it sound like a work in the park"

"Should I call mum and tell her we are getting married? Will you be fine if I told Nora that you're mine? If the company you've put most of your life into goes to drain just from one news from a thirsty reporter about how you've been cheating on your fiance with your child?"

"You think Nora would smile and wish you an happy ever after?"

" That mum would look me the same ?"

She asked not particularly expecting me to answer but I did.

" Trust me love, we can make this work, we can make us work somehow, I promise" I said trying to reassure her or was it myself?.

"Make this work? How?! She questioned, throwing her hands in the air.

"Have you even thought about what happens next ? If you're ready to face it? Or have you just been centered on the idea of having someone whorship the ground you walk on and follow you around like a lost puppy, just as I did?" She asked looking me in the eye.

"Are you ready for the disappointment? Disapproval? Riddicule? Are you willing to loose everything for love?"

"To you, I'm I really worth risking it all?" She asked, needing me to give her an answer this time, with her eyes she begged me to give her my truth.

I wanted to tell her that only a handful of people knows she is my daughter, to most people, she is my sister,an adopted one at that. Others probably don't even know she exsist" That non of the things she thinks matters, mattered to me. Only her.

But I just couldn't say a word, no matter how many times I opened my mouth, I was tongue tied. And just that few minutes of hesitation ruined everything. It projected all the answers she anticipated.

"See?!" She said, throwing her head backwards as she let out an hysterical laugh.

"You can't even give me an answer and you say I shouldn't be the other woman?" She asked.

I couldn't even look her in the eye. This was going down the wrong road pretty fast and I had no clue on how to save this.

"Don't be?" I heard her say to herself while shaking her head.

Suddenly she lifted her head up to look at me then said;

"I love you. I have always loved you. I swear I'll do anything, give up everything, I'll call off the engagement...just please, stay." I pleaded. Hugging her from behind, which made her go stiff.

"I love you too Dad..."

"But if this is how much loving you will hurt me, whould hurt us, I don't think it's good for me, or you." She said silently now facing me as she held my face in her palm

"This isn't healthy anymore. It's toxic. I just recently realised I don't really have a life outside you, and same goes for you. No friends, no love life, everything revolves around you. That's not normal." She whispered.

"I love you, I love you so much it's scary. But I won't be your secret, I want to go out and find me. For so long your happiness has been what makes me happy, I don't want that anymore...I want to search for what makes me, me. You should do that too." She told me with a sad smile as she gently stroked my hair.

"No, you're just running away again like you used too." I fired back.

"No, I'm not, you said you want this to work, I want that too. But till you clean up your mess and figure a practical way of doing so, I'll be at mum's place. I'll be taking the rest of my classes online now, I decided to stay, to wait for you... But please, don't take too long.

With a peck on my cheek and a sad look in her eyes, She destangled herself from my grasp and left.

And now I'm here trying to pick up the pieces of my heart yet again.

The only silver line of hope this time is I had a chance to fix this...

I'll find a way to come back to you Angel, so please wait for me.
