Daddy's Little Angel novel Chapter 51

Camera light flashed everywhere as reporters tried to get a good angle of my face. Some screaming at the top of their lungs for a minute of my time to ask a few questions.

This was the one thing I hated the most.

As I navigate my way through all this with the aid of my bodyguards, my phone begins to ring. Checking the screen, it's Nora. So I refused to pick.

But this kept on even as I got into the car and made my way towards my parents place so I switched it off.

I couldn't wait to get home to see Angel's expression. To hold her in my arms. To hear her answer to my proposal.

In all honesty I must confess I'm scared things will go wrong. That she would reject me. It wouldn't be the first time she had done so. I have cone to realise that with her, heartfelt confessions always ends with heart break. But call it my curse, maybe I owe it to her in our previous life. No matter what she does, I can't keep away. If she refuses me tonight, I'll try again tomorrow, and the day after till she says yes.

I got home quite late. It was way past midnight. Every one must be fast asleep, all worn out by last night event. I was going to let Angel have her rest but then I decided aI needed to see her even if it's for a brief moment before heading to bed.

Entering into her room I'm shocked to find a figure at the edge of the bed in a bowing possition with head being cradled in her plams.

I slowly approach the bed, worry on my face.

"Angel, whats wrong? You're not asleep yet?" I asked in a small voice not to startle her.

Hearing my voice, she lifted her head and I saw stain of tears on her cheeks which made me more concerned.

"Baby what's wrong ? Why are you crying.?" I asked in a soft voice wiping the reminant of tears from her cheeks.

She stood up to face me walking towards me without breaking eye contact. Out of the blue she began hitting me on the chest with her little soft fist in attempt to let out her grievance?

What did I do this time? I asked myself.

"You always seem to surprise me love"

I said pulling her close to me.

"I will" she said with a smile as she stopped sobbing catching me off gaurd.

"Uh?" I asked confused whuch made her let out a chuckle. It sounded like rai. I thought to myself.

"I will marry you silly!!" She beamed.

"I will marry you Jack" she said making me go stiff from surprise.

"Angel are you sure? You dont need to give me an answer so soon, I can wait if you're not ready." I reassured her that there was no pressure.

"No Jack. We both have waited long enough. I want this Jack. I want to be yours in all sense of it." She told me seriously. Looking into my eyes with conviction. With that, I couldn't hold my self back from the urge to claim her lips with mine.

As soom as I placed my lips on hers, I heard the sound of something crashing to the ground making both of us startled. Just as we turn to the place where the sound was heard we both went stiff at what we saw.
