Everything was going just fine up untill this moment.
I was the happiest woman on Earth who had a man ready to give me the sun if I all but ask.
But it all changed.
It happened days after Jack picked me up from work and took me to see the house or should I say mansion he bought in my name to celebrate my graduation from college which I had forgotten about untill he made mention of it.
I was surprised and amazed beyond words.
Just when I thought that was the last of it, he crowned it by handing me a car key saying it was a bonus gift.
He arranged for a candle light dinner and went ahead to officially ask me to be his girlfriend.
We spent the weekend in my new house enjoying each other's company and away from everything else.
Everything was perfect. I was on top of the moon. I guess that is what being in love feels like.
When we finally got back home, we were both surprised to see Nora standing on our front porch.
She look drained, like she had been through a lot this past few days.
As she noticed our presence or let me rephrase that, the presence of my boyfriend, she made her way towards our direction and flung herself at him like he was her long lost love.
At that point, all the pity I felt for her flew through the window , and in it's place stood jealousy.
Has you may have guessed, she burst into tears, giving a sappy story of how she had been looking for him for the past three days straight and she never gave up hope. She also went on to confess her undying love for him, pleading for him to have her back. No matter how Jack tried to push her away from him, she just seem to hold on tighter, weeping and pleading to be taking back while I stood on the side lines watching a full show.
Finally, Jack finds a way to escape from her clutches and ask her to leave as he beckons me to follow him into the house.
As we turned our back from her, we heard a piercing scream and then a loud thud of something hitting the ground. Turning around on impulse, we find a limp Nora on the floor.
I had screamed out of fright. I was so scared that she had died, that I myself almost fainted. I may not like the woman, doesn't mean I want her dead.
We put her in the car and rushed over to our family hospital which wasn't that far and that how we ended up here in the hospital, in the middle of the night.
I was sitted at the reception waiting for the doctor to tell us what the hell happened while Jack was pacing about making it impossible for me to calm down.
Just as I was about to snap at him, the doctor called for us.
I was about to follow my dad in when I was stopped by the nurse.
"Ma'am please wait outside, only Mr Westfield can go in, sorry. "
" Why are you crying? I thought you said she was fine?" I asked obviously confused.
"Talk to me please." I pleaded getting worried.
"Angel...." He called out my name in barely a whisper. He sounded torn.
"Come on, you're scaring me. Say something! " I was beyond worried at this point, thinking of various reasons that could make him be this devastated.
"Angel I'm so sorry..." He spoke again in a cracked voice as his tears came in waves.
"Why are you saying this? You did nothing wrong. It's not your fault that she was outside our home tonight, you couldn't have known. So there's absolutely nothing to forgive." I blurted out.
"You don't get it. I messed up Angel, I made a mess of every thing!" He said as he stood up and began to pace. His hands pulling at the root of his hair so fiercely, I feared it would come off.
"Jack what the hell is going on?! What are you not telling me?!" I yelled frustrated as I stood up to face him.
Pausing in front of me, he looked into my eyes with a guilt ridden expression and finally said the words that shattered my world of unicorns and rainbows.
"Nora, she's pregnant and I think it mine."
