"Come on Mindy, let's give it a shot, who knows what might happen," he said, trying to change my mind. He walked over to me, his hands reaching out to gently stroke my arms. My cheeks blushed to feel him be so intimate with me. I still could not wrap my mind around the fact that he wanted me to be his girlfriend.

"I have to think about it, just give me a few days, this is a little too much for me to take in," I replied, partly hating myself. Here was a guy that was pouring out his heart and I was slowly crushing it. Jeremiah gave my arms a light squeeze and bent forward to place a kiss on my forehead.

"No later than Monday okay?" he whispered.

"Jeremiah, we are leaving," came Gunner's unfathomable voice.

I flinched, my heart speeding up as I watched him glare in my direction. I instantly looked away gripping myself tighter.

"I'll see you at school tomorrow," Jeremiah said, before walking back into the house.

I followed behind them finding route towards my room. I sat on my bed watching as the door knob slowly turned and then opened. Gunner leant against the door frame, his dark jeans and grey shirt stretching over his slender built form. He crossed one booted foot over the other and took a deep breath.

"If I were you I would say no, Jeremiah doesn't know what he wants. He's just a dumb teenager with raging hormones, trust me," he said.

"W-what," I stuttered, my eyes looking behind him in hopes of seeing Jeremiah stop him from bullying me.

"I think you know exactly what I am talking about. This little romance isn't going to last, you'll just wined up broken," he spat.

"Dude what the hell!" Jeremiah suddenly snapped out.

I felt offended as Gunner kept glaring at me, his hands crossed over his chest like some big bad Lycan.

"What are you doing with this toothpick Jeremiah, are you seriously trying to break whatever is left of her spirit?" Gunner argued, without even looking at his brother.

I felt trapped and hurt as tears sprung over my waterline. I took a deep breath the thick musky scent overpowering my room as Jeremiah tried to shove Gunner away from my door.

Gunners P.O.V

"An Alpha must always present himself with elegance and grace. He must not be ashamed to sit nor dine with the lowest of his pack. Above all else the Alpha fights even for the lowest, poorest soul. His Luna must be a woman of poise and dignity, a mighty heart to win over her people. She must also be ferocious and able in combat. A Luna is not only the restraint for her Alpha but her lover, wife, and soul mate. She is the future mother to his male cubs." The instructor went on.

I listened attentively, trying desperately to grasp at every word the tutor said. I wanted to be the best that I could be. My soul purpose in life was to make my pack and family proud. There was so much I planned to do in order to improve the military and enforcement. I knew that times were a bit hard on the economy but I was optimistic, I along with my future Luna, would find ways for the Cobalt Nation to persevere.

"Why is it important for a Luna to be healthy, attentive and most of all stronger both physically and mentally?" My tutor, Mr. Totem asked.

I cleared my throat and spoke, "She must be alert and ready for anything that might come her way. She must present herself with authority wherever she goes. The look on her face must read that she demands to be respected and heard, not feared. Physically she must be prepared, for not only will she carry the future Alpha in her womb, she will also have to endure the most crucial of pains to give birth. The human female falls short of the birthing pains a Luna bears." I replied.

"Very good Mr. Ardent," Mr. Totem replied.

I relaxed a little and let my hands unclench as I listened and answered every question correctly. I felt more than ready to be Alpha, the joy and excitement was evident every day I went to my personal classes to grow.
