Donovan turned to Xenia and reminded her. "Don't forget who took you in."

Lowering her head, Xenia mumbled, "It's true I don't know anything."

"I did question her, Donovan," Blake added.

Their responses sent Donovan's anger glaring as he snapped at Blake, "You'd better not forget who has the final say in this family."

With that, he turned and stormed off.

Blake glanced at Xenia and softly said, "Don't worry. I'll protect you."

After leaving the basement, he quickly caught up with Donovan. "I'm not hiding anything, Donovan. I would've told you if Xenia could help the Liddells grow."

"You mean it?" Donovan asked in a skeptical tone.

"I swear. I've never lied to you about things like this."

That was only when Donovan's expression softened as he said, "I know you're not happy about me keeping Xenia here, but if we let her out, she might go straight to Noelle and cause trouble. I might have my reasons, but I've considered the bigger picture."

"I understand you still care about Noelle. Don't worry. I'll keep a close eye on Xenia and make sure she doesn't run wild." Blake promised.

In the end, Donovan said nothing else. He didn't order Xenia to be released from the basement either.

Blake made a silent vow that he'd never let Noelle down again.
