After a few awkward moments, the doorbell rang.
"Trevor?" A female voice calls, it was a small voice, cute and he grinned as he walked towards the front door.
"Maria!"
"Where's the pretty lady?" She pushes past him and grins at me. I end up grinning back unknowingly as she rushes towards me.
"Hi again." She says cutely, poking my nose and then giggling.
Trevor converses with the person at the door and I turn my attention back to her.
"Hey, Maria. How are you?" I question and she tugs at her ponytail.
"I'm good. How are you? "She asks, plopping next to me and I notice how she was always doing something. She fidgeted a lot.
"Could he better. But I'm alive."
"No one wants to be dead." She says as if what I said was the silliest thing ever.
"Did you just run past me little girl." He raises an eyebrow and she rolls her eyes.
"I'm talking Trevor." My mouth forms an 'o' and he gapes.
"I don't want you to become a teenager." He grumbles.
"What's that?"
"Exactly." Trevor grins and she just gives him a confused look.
"Stop teasing the poor girl. Are you hungry? "
"Nope, I ate chicken on the way here, Trevor, can I have your phone." He hands it to her without hesitation and that was it, she was as silent as midnight.
"Hey...can we talk?" Trevor questions, motioning to the kitchen and I stand, moving over to him
"I'm sorry about this afternoon... I didn't think about the impact it may have on you. You look exhausted."
"Oh trust me. I am. But it's okay, you saved a whole life's worth of traumatization." He chuckles a little, before opening his arms.
"What? Do you feel hot or something?" I question confused and his cheeks turn pink.
"Get in here for a hug Ocean, a hug."
"Oh." it was my turn to feel embarrassed as I slowly wrapped my hands around his frame. What were we doing?
Friends hug all the time right?"
"Are you two boyfriend and girlfriend?" We jump apart at the small voice, Maria was back, her hand resting on her chin and I clear my throat.
"No, you're brothers, not my type." I half-lie. He was cute, but Mafia leaders weren't really my thing.
"What's a type?"
"Perfect," he says and she once again, looks at him confused, this time with a glare. "What?"
"I have to be out for a little while shouldn't take long, I'll have someone watch the house..."
I close my eyes waiting for the lights to turn on but it never happens. I jump as arms snake around my waist, his Cologne mixed with a bit of alcohol intoxicating me.
"Trevor?"
"What're you doing up?" He questions, a little too close because I couldn't think right. My shirt had ridden up a bit because of our proximity and I can't help but flush.
"I-I was cleaning up... Marie's sleeping in your room." I all but whisper and he nods.
"Do you think of me Ocean?" He whispers suddenly, his head ducking into my neck and my eyes widen.
"W-What?" I squeak. I couldn't comprehend what exactly was going on, but the minute his lips touched my skin I was gone for, unable to breathe properly.
"Do you think of me?" He repeats, a little muffled against my skin. "Do you imagine me doing these things to you?"
"I-I... No, I-"
"I'm sorry, am I intimidating you? Do you get nervous around me?"
"Trevor." I warn, my knees weak, as he played with the fabric of my shirt.
"You stood in the darkness, thinking I couldn't exactly see you. My shirt grazing your knee made me want to do unexplainable things to you."
"Uh... "
"But I won't." He says, breakings apart, the cup to my chest.
"Not yet at least, after all, I have to become I'm not just your type yet." And with that, he winks, departing confidently and leaving me in a mess of thoughts.
