Ocean's POV
"I'll be back late tomorrow night."
"I don't care. Just handle it, that's your job isn't it?" I stir a bit, slightly opening my eyes to find Trevor near the windows, shirtless with his phone pressed against his ear. He kept on talking, and all I could do was gently rest my head on the pillow and inhale softly. Last night was something more than peaceful, something serene. We didn't stay spooning, nor did my head lay on his chest all night, but it's just the fact that his presence was near. I felt safe.
"Good morning." I didn't realize the call had ended, I smiled up at him softly.
"Morning." He sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at me.
"Slept okay?" Unable to voice how good my rest was, I only closed my eyes and nodded.
"Good, cause we have big plans today."
"Hey there Mr. big man, we have stuff to talk about." I remind him and he nods.
"Of course, but that's all in the big plans."
"I hope you're not trying to procrastinate Trevor," I say with a hint of disapproval and he shakes his head, pecking my lips. Looks like he already brushed his teeth.
"I am not love, relax then get ready, dress a little casual, a bit classy, we're going on a date." He winks before disappearing and I sigh, throwing myself back onto the bed.
I look at my outfit through the mirror and silently wondered if it was too much. I hadn't packed for such an elegant trip, but this would have to do. I added black heels for 'class'.
The door swung open and I give Trevor a weak look. "Can you knock? I could've been naked."
"You had no problem with that last night though didn't... you..." His words faltered as his eyes fell on me. "Wow."
"It's the best I've got. I know it's not that classy but,"
"It's... you look... sexy." He took a step towards me, and I suddenly felt insecure against his gaze.
"Um, do you mind taking a picture for me?" Anything to distract him.
He took up his phone without hesitation. "I don't think I wanna fixed smile so I'm gonna tell a joke."
"Alright, give it your best shot."
"Why did the chicken drown?"
"Huh?"
"Because..."
"Because?"
"I don't know I thought I would've thought of something by now." He admits and I cackle.
"That was as dry as a biscuit."
"Oh shut up beautiful and give me a smile." Giggling, I instinctively look away as if to hide my smile, at the same time that his mom walked in.
'Click!'
"Got ya." He says, smiling down at the phone. "Winsome and smiling."
"Can you stop staring at me, Trevor?" I sigh.
"I can't. I'm trying to." Rolling my eyes, I couldn't deny the fact that I was honestly flattered. It gave me a sense of confidence as he stepped out and grabbed my hand to lead me into the restaurant.
"It's already a little after 11, I hope you don't mind an early lunch."
"It's fine." I smile up at him, as he places his hand on my lower back as I try to gracefully sit on the chair.
"But how can I promise that?" I whisper, suddenly feeling worried. "How do I know what I'll feel in the next year or two?"
"I'm not asking you to promise this right now. But if two, or three months down the line you can't tell whether you see a solid future with me... "
"My mother always used to say that if a man can't tell whether he wants to marry you even after five years, then you need to let him go."
"Five years is a lot, mi amore, we don't know if we have that long." He rubs at my finger and I'm quiet for a moment before I slowly smile.
"Okay."
"Okay?" He smiles back.
"Okay." I nod.
He leans back slowly.
"Now, what do you expect from me?" He asks, at the same time that the food arrives and I immediately begin to salivate.
"After." I almost moaned at the sight. The colors, the smell, the sizzling. The food was served in the pan itself, and I really couldn't wait to dive in.
"All this... is mine?"
"You said you didn't want a forkful right?" He winks, and I nearly kissed him with delight, but the scent of food was far more alluring.
Ten minutes in silence cause I was gulping down spaghetti, and Trevor's facial expression suddenly changed.
"Aloria?" Fell from his mouth before she stood before our table.
"Trevor, I need to speak to you please." She says, before eyeing me. "Alone."
