Chapter 75
“Do either of you feel like something is happening between you and your partner?”
“Like what?” Justin asks.
“Like… I don’t know, something intense, something that feels awfully close to what I think a mate bond should feel like.”
“Yes.” Cole says.
“No.” Justin says.

“Really?” Cole and I say together. I’m looking at him, but he’s looking at Justin.
“Yeah, I mean, Selena and I are doing okay, and yeah, we’re both
having orgasms, but that’s all it is. It’s sort of like friends with benefits.” Justin says. “It was awkward at first, but I’m hoping it’s easier once we‘ re no longer in the classroom.”
“What about you and Cassie, Cole?” I ask.
“I thought it was because of the sex class, but I’m like you, Shane. Things between Cassie and I have intensified immensely during class. That has translated to us spending more time together outside of class too. I didn’t think about it being the mate bond. I just thought that being with someone that intimately, someone I’m spending so much time with, was making the whole situation more intense. You think it could be the start of a mate bond?” he asks me.

“I don’t know. That’s why I wanted to talk to the two of you about it,” I
say.
I turn and look at Justin again. “So, you don’t have feelings for Selena?”
“No. And I don’t feel the need to spend any additional time with her outside of class. Hell, I don’t even wait for her after the sex class. I thought the two of you were doing that because it’s Sebi and Cassie and we’re the Conquering Alphas.”
“We would for that reason, but it’s more than that, for me at least,” Cole
says.
“Me too. It’s almost like I need the additional intimacy after class. Like, if we were in bed, I’d want to curl up around her and go to sleep with her in my arms,” I say.
“I’m sort of hoping and expecting to do that this week once we progress to the next step in class,” Cole says.
“What does Cassie say about it?” I ask.
“She says she feels it too, but when we’ve talked about it, we both agreed it must be the sex class. She only had one partner prior to coming here, so she thought it was because she’s never had this level of intimacy with someone before,” he says.
“Tiana and I thought it was because we are rebuilding our friendship. And at first, I thought it was because I was learning to trust her. But it’s grown into something much deeper than that now,” I say.
“Shit, the fucking mate bond? Really?” Cole says, scrubbing his face.
