He gets a faraway look on his face as he smiles. “I think I’ll talk to her about it, see what she thinks. With everything I’ll be walking into when I get home, I want things between us to be steady.”

“When’s your birthday?” I ask him.

“Two weeks before the end of the semester.”

“And hers?” Justin asks.

“The day before graduation,” he says smiling.

“So you’ll know before you leave here. T and I both have birthdays after we get home. Mine is first and I’ll be taking over the pack from Christian afterward, so it will be a chaotic time. Maybe you’re right. Maybe it’s better to talk about it while we’re here, lay everything on the table.”

“For you especially, Shane,” Justin says. “With your trust issues, you need to feel confident that you know what’s up between you so nothing gets misconstrued between birthdays, taking over the pack, and Christian and Enya leaving your pack. I chuckle. “That’s a good question. I have no idea what they’re planning. I need to call him anyway. I never apologized for the way I acted towards him during hell week.”

“You’ve been a little busy and I’m sure he understands. He’s been in your shoes, Shane,” Cole says.

“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t apologize. A good Alpha admits when they’re wrong,” I say, thinking of Tiana and her saying she knows what makes a good Alpha.
