"Sam, I don't know how to tell you but your office was ransacked last night after we all left, the place is a disaster. I'm not sure what they were looking for but I called the cops," Sara paused taking a breath. "I'm sorry it's been a mad house here this morning, I just hope it wasn't him and was hoping you'd call and confirm that you were okay."

Sam didn't know what to say. "I'm sorry Sara, look I can call back later or you can call when everything clams down."

"Yeah I'll give you a call, I just want you to be very careful if it was him, who knows what else he is capable of."

"Yeah I'll be careful thanks for letting me know." Sam disconnected the call and sat down on the last step up to the loft. Her head began to pound the rush of the fear was awful.

She jumped up quickly when Brady and Blake came in the barn. She had to tell them what was going on but for some reason she just couldn't. She smoothed down her hair and tucked it behind her ears and replaced the mask she was forced to wear anymore.

Blake glanced at Sam from underneath his protection of his identity. He couldn't help but notice she looked very flustered.

Brady walked past them to start turning the horses out. "Have fun short stuff." He called over his shoulder.

Sam rolled her eyes. "Okay, so what do you usually do?" She asked as she turned more towards Blake trying to shove the anxiety away.

"Well, it's pretty crappy, no pun intended, I clean out the stalls after Brady gets all the horses out, straighten up around here, sweep, exercise the horses that don't get used on the round ups or checks and if I can I'll take them out on the trails instead of work them in the corral, stock up whatever we are short on in here, Aaron has me do errands sometimes." He pushed his thoughts away then headed to the back room where they had the fed and hay. "This is the fed room, across there is the tack room."

Sam followed Blake without hesitation. "Do you ever go?" She asked as she looked up at him.

"No, not my thing." He answered in short tone knowing exactly what she was asking about.

"Oh, okay, well I'm ready to get started." Sam said cheerfully.

Blake smiled at how excited she seemed, too bad it wasn't about spending time with him. He knew better, no one liked being around him.

They were on their fourth stall between the two of them when Sam's phone began to go off. She checked the ID this time before she answered. "Hello?"

"Hi Samantha, I'm so sorry about this morning."

"Oh it's no problem, is everything settling down now?"

"Yeah, we don't know anything yet, cops said could take a while, the video footage got tampered with though," Sara let out a sigh. "So any ways, what did you call about?"

"Well I figured these past two days I can use for vacation, until we figure out what's going on I'll do work from here, I'll send everything in the mail, the information for most of our clients is on my lap top and I have that with me I can handle those for now and then go from there." She tried to sound cheerful but she couldn't stop everything in her life because of this jerk.

"For lying to me, you don't have a boyfriend and for just taking off the way you did."

"Well, I have unused vacation not that it's any of your business what I do when I do it, and I didn't lie I do have a boyfriend."

He let out a rough laugh. "Is that why you're in Boulder?"

Sam's breath left her so fast. He knew where she was or at least the city she was in, not her exact location. "Yeah, it is, we are taking a much needed vacation with each other and would really like to know why you're doing this." So many lies came from her mouth anymore that this flew easily past her lips.

"Oh you will find out why, but how could I not, you are just so beautiful and the way your body felt against mine the other day, oh it set me on fire, you'll love what I can and will do to you." He said hoarsely, his voice always sounded like he smoked three packs of cigarettes a day.

Sam grimaced inwardly. "I'm sure my boyfriend will have something to say about that, he's never letting you touch me again."

"Oh my dear Samantha, he won't stop me, no one can or will."

She hung up the phone and laid it against the stall door and backed away from it. She just stared at it, what was she going to do?

Blake watched Sam's body closely and once he saw how upset she was getting he rushed to her side. She backed away from her phone quickly and her breathing was looking hitched. "Sam, what happened?"
