He felt her shiver against him as the goose bums rose up over her body. He sighed as he kissed her cheek softly.
"Blake." She whispered.
"Shh Baby, don't, I love you." He continued to rub her back.
Sam slowly slid from on top of Blake but she laid down beside him with her head on his chest. "I love you too Blake, I'm so sorry for everything,"
He interrupted her quickly. "Honey you have nothing to be sorry about, I just wish you'd stay with me," he kissed the top of her head gently. "I don't want to know what life will be like without you now." He nuzzled his nose against her hair a little taking in her heavenly scent, he'd never get enough of this.
"You deserve someone better than me Blake, someone who's not weak, someone who's not damaged."
"Samantha," he scolded her a little as he raised up on his elbow and tilted her head up with his finger beneath her chin. "Do you forget I'm damaged and weak also, and you want me don't you?"
Sam averted her gaze from his quickly. He made a point with just those few words. She nodded her head a little. "But can two people like us actually work things out completely?" Sam whispered as the tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.
"I think so Honey, if we try really hard and want t to work and to be together then yes two people like us can make it work with each other," he stroked her cheek with his thumb. "And I want t"
She slid down more hiding her face against him.
"Oh Baby, you're everything to me, stay two weeks instead of one, we'll show each other how well we can make this work." Blake pleaded as he rolled a little more towards her and rubbed her back more.
"I don't know Blake, I want to be my independent self again, I didn't used to be like this," she buried her head against his bare, sculpted chest. "And what if I become the person I was before and you don't love the person I really am?"
Blake sighed realizing he wasn't going to win against this stubborn girl. "Just lay with me fore a while." Was all he could say and the conversation completely stopped. What was he going to do without her?
Sam gave into his request, they laid together, their naked bodies pressed together underneath the blanket. Since they both got very little sleep the night before they fell asleep holing each other tightly.
Aaron called Jaimie once he was out of the barn. He felt so stupid and awkward, how was he going to look them in the face after almost walking in on them.
"Hi Aaron what's up?" Jaimie asked after the third ring and she picked up.
"Jaimie I don't know what to do, Sammy wants to go back home at the end of the week." He blurted as he sat on the front steps to his house.
"Really Aaron, that's not a good idea so soon after everything, I thought counseling was going to happen before she decided anything."
and made me feel so safe. I'm sorry I have to go home. Please don't follow me, I just
need time to think about so much. Just know my heart belongs to you and I will
always love you.
Love always,
Sam
She reread the note, it wasn't justice for how she felt but it would have to do. She sat the pen down and made her way to the stairs as quietly as possible and went down them, she had a long drive ahead of her. She couldn't even stop to tell Aaron goodbye.
She went to her truck, glad she had put everything in there the day before. She got in and started it then headed down the dirt driveway kicking up a cloud of dust behind her.
Blake jerked awake when he heard the engine start, he pulled on sweatpants like lightning and almost stumbled down the steps. He burst through the door that swung open and saw the blue truck taking off with the dust trailing after it. She really left him, she took off without even thinking about it. He fought the tears but the anger led him to punch the wooden barn hard letting out a yell of frustration.
Aaron came out of the house like lightning but froze on the porch seeing Sam's truck was gone and the dust slowly settling back down to the ground. He looked over when he heard Blake yell. He stepped down off the steps slowly walking over to Blake. "Blake?"
