Blake stared at the door completely confused, he didn't mean to pressure her so much. He screwed up, again. He turned from the house and headed to the barn where he punched one of the beams that made up the frame of the barn. He was such a moron. What was it about Sam that made him want to be there for her, all the time? If she wanted him in she'd let him in and obviously it wasn't going to happen. She was the smart one. He got the feed and hay ready for the night then began to sweep. He heard the truck pull in and he sighed Aaron was home, just great.
"Hey Blake, you doing this by yourself?" Aaron asked as he walked into the barn.
"Yeah and I'm almost done."
"Well where's Brady?"
"I don't know."
"What's up with Sammy's truck?"
"She went in to town to get somethings, she wasn't feeling good, she's inside been there since she got home."
"Have you checked on her?"
"No, I tried to talk to her when she got home, she got upset with me, so I backed off."
"I'll be back." Aaron headed up towards his house. He searched downstairs first but couldn't find Sam. He headed upstairs calling her name.
Sam jerked awake splashing water over the place. "Aaron! Give me a minute please, I'll be out soon."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah just decided to take a bath."
"Oh okay, well I've got somethings to finish outside."
"Okay." She pulled the plug on the tub and stood up to dry off. She got dressed in a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants she had bought. She put on some socks and the tennis shoes and went downstairs.
She headed outside, she had to find Blake, she needed to apologize to him. She ran to the barn. "Blake! Blake!" She called but no answer. She went up to the loft. "Blake?" He was nowhere, she sat on his bed, she'd just wait for him until he came back.
She hated herself, she laid on the bed slowly as exhaustion over took her. She'd just lay there and close her eyes, let them rest a little.
Blake headed up to his lift, he was ready for bed, especially after being woke up last night. His boots made a clomping nose as he climbed up the steps. He froze when he saw a lump on his bed. He reached over and turned his lam on. He shoved his shades down and headed over to his bed cautiously. He reached out and gently shook her. "Sam, hey wake up."
She woke up and stared up into the same shades she was getting used to. "Blake." She rubbed her eyes slowly as she sat up.
"You have to promise not to tell Aaron." She pulled her legs up underneath her to sit Indian style.
"Promise." He was actious to hear what she had to say about how he saved her.
"The reason I'm here is I apparently have a stalker, I just needed to get away, especially after yesterday. I left work too late and was trying to get to my truck, I didn't make it, he followed me in the parking garage I park in, he grabbed me from behind by my throat, which explains the bruises and I know you saw them yesterday and you did just have your lips on them. A stranger came and helped though, he didn't have to lift a finger I am so grateful to him."
Blake crossed his legs casually. "Sounds to me you want to see him again."
"I wouldn't mind, I'd like to thank him again only properly this time, I was a wreck after it happened." Sam sighed as she looked at her hands in her lap.
Blake cleared his throat. "I'm sure he understood, did you take care of the stalker, did you call the cops?" He leaned forward hoping she took his advice from yesterday
"I was going to, but then I realized I have nothing to go on, just phone calls a few notes here and there but I don't even know who it is and it's always so brief, I don't know where to start." She let her shoulders sag. "I just came to the first place I thought he couldn't find me."
"That's why you came home so upset today after you were in town?" He raised his eyebrows above his shades.
"I, yeah, he made another phone call attempt today, I was angry and lied to him, he knows I lied, he just makes me feel so sick to my stomach, I didn't mean to yell at you, my nerves are just about shot." She looked up at him slowly. "I don't know why I just told you everything when I can't even tell my brother."
