Austin pushed me out of the way as the wolf flew in between us tackling the tree. A sharp crack and snapping wood filled the air as the bark began to rip off the falling tree. I sat still on the ground in shock, witnessing the grey wolf's incredulous strength. I hadn't noticed the tree was near to hitting me until the black wolf dragged me back by the collar of my shirt. The wolves tackled Austin from his path, multiple ganging up on him as he fought to get them off. "Austin!!" I stood only to get knocked back onto the ground and dragged around by wolves. I Screamed trying to kick the wolves off me as their canine teeth snapped at my skin."Let go!!"
A white and black spotted wolf ripped the wolves from me followed by a light brown wolf. Silas grabbed me, pulling me up to my feet, before turning to Austin who had ripped a wolf from its limbs. I had planned on shrieking, I had never come into contact with another wolfs blood, well not like this at least, but from the shock I was in I didn't. Milo shifted helping the other two to gang up on the grey wolf. "What...whe- huh?"
The grey wolf snarled before hitting one of its pack members, causing it to whimper and follow as they left."Are you okay?" Milo smiled sheepishly taking off his jacket and wrapping it around me. I nodded as I glanced over at Austin, he started for the river, I'm guessing to wash the blood off. I hadn't noticed it before but everyone, including my self, were struggling to pull our senses away from the blood. I mean, I wasn't a cannibal or anything but, I'v been starving for the longest now. I paused on my footing as Milo put his hand to my chest demanding an answer, "Where are you going?"
"To the river with Austin...?" Judging by his face he didn't like that answer yet he quickly changed his expression to a soft worried smile.
"I think I should attend to your wounds-" he began as I looked down at my arms and legs as the pain finally started to settle in. The bite marks being filled with blood as it trickled down my skin and soaked into my shirt and sweats. The claw marks looking like small gashes, the red liquid hitting the surface letting it self be know who was actually winning the fight. And it wasn't me. Silas choked out a cough warningly as I looked at him. His black bangs swung to the side of his face revealing his dark pupils. Before I could even ask Milo cleared hit throat loudly dragging me off on a random path.
"About that, want to inform me in?" I asked as we came to a complete stop. Milo sat me down, my back resting up against the tree, he knelled on the side of me removing his shirt.
'Don't worry about it." Nodding as if I were saying okay, which I really wasn't he shifted. The light brown wolf in front of me arched over me using it's claws to rip away part of the sweat to lick the wound.
*Silas POV*
Carefully, not wanting Austin to release his sudden angry out on me, I tiptoed to him but failed when I dragged my foot across the snow. he looked up at me, his body only half way into the water letting the blood wash from him, 'Hi." I said apathetically.
"What's he doing?" the words flew out of his mouth sternly without hesitation.
"Tending to Chance's wounds." he growled rubbing the blood off so rough that his skin grew red. "It's not so bad." I sat down at the edge of the river pushing my hair from my face, "Their not even that bad."
"Thats not the point!" he snapped, and that was my cue to leave. I didn't want to be stuck with listening to his regrets, seriously he's taking everything the wrong way. "I couldn't even fight them off by myself-"
"Weakling."
"Forrest?"
"What ever."
I paused to let time settle in. The wind blew the snow into the river only causing the white particles to melt quickly. "Chance?"
He stiffened, pulling him self out of the river as the water dripped from his naked frame. "What about him?"
I laughed knowing what he really meant, he looked at me questioningly, "What ever." I rose to my feet walking over to where the others were, Forrest wrapped his arms around my waist sinking his face into my neck, "And I suppose this is okay?" I could detect the disgust on Jett's face, Forrest grinned happily with his reaction nodding.
