"Claire." I mumbled as I knocked softly. "I made Dinner." But I still got no response.
"I know you're angry at me but will you transfer that aggression on this innocent food?"
I heard her footsteps before the door knob turned, quietly opening to reveal her stern expression. I froze instantly, I was supposed to be the Alpha here, the dominant one but when she was like this, it was otherwise.
"Are you going to keep standing there all day?" She uttered and it immediately jolted me back to my senses. I ushered myself into the dark room illuminated by the rays of moonlight while she locked the door behind her. The crumbs of cheesecakes alongside crackers on our bedsheets easily caught my eyes.
"Looks like someone has had dinner." I muttered while she lazily trailed to the bedside.
"Did you think I was going to go on an hunger strike just because I'm angry?" She queried in a slightly mocking tone.
"Then I guess I can take my food back." I answered, making sure my eyes wasn't meeting hers.
"You can leave but drop that Noodles." She toned back and my eyes finally met hers. I needed to find courage to say my sincere words or else I'd be risking a week long of argument.
I joined her by the bedside and thankfully she didn't restrain me from sitting so close.
"I'm sorry. I should have been very sensible with my actions today. I should have put my Pack and it's reputation first." I paused. My eyes remained on the tray in my hands while her gaze were on me.
"I'm sorry for ruining all your hard work today and I'm sorry for not listening to you." I whispered as we both shared passionate gazes at each other. Her stern face melted into a tiny smile. She slowly retrieved the tray off my hands, laying it on her thighs, ready to devour my meal.
"No matter the multitude of men that lust after me, you're never going to lose me Kevin." She asserted and I smiled. "You just have to bear the burden of having an extremely beautiful mate." She chuckled and I rolled my eyes. That was it, we were back to normal again. Our smiles, our joviality.
"You're not that beautiful, to be fair." I teased.
"And your food taste horrible darling." She retorted. I almost chuckled until I realized it was an insult.
"Wait how did you know I cooked this?" I shot her a quizzical look.
"It tells all over your face."
"So is it truly bad?" I asked. She dropped her cutlery gently. Smiling sweetly at me while she gently caressed my cheek.
"A little peppery but it's perfect." I blushed hearing those words.
"I just hope you didn't burn the kitchen."
I wore an anxious smile even though I hated the way my hair was streamlined backwards. I preferred my usual style but Gabriel wouldn't let me. Now I looked like a corporate businessman.
"I'm scared." I didn't know when those words rolled out but I needed his advice regardless.
"About what?"
"That I may end up ruining everything or that I might bore her. This is my first time doing something like this." I responded, my eyes still mirroring my reflection.
"Kevin." He patted my back gently, somewhat in a fatherly manner. "You'll do just fine. Just follow your heart or let Lupus take the reins. I know him to be more reasonable."
I rolled my eyes while Lupus seemed to agree.
"I'll do just fine." I whispered, trying to allay my anxieties.
"Come on, you don't wanna be late." He gently push me towards the door. "And don't forget to give me the full gist later." He toned in a cocky manner before helping himself to the stairs. I gulped down my saliva, adjusting my jacket before pacing solemnly to her room. As I arrived the door, I immediately felt the usual exciting sparks course through my body like blood.
I exchanged heavy breaths with the warm air around me before knocking gently. The door quietly opened and if anyone had told me that my mouth was going to be wide open or my eyes exclaiming, I would have outrightly denied.
